The motherboard i'm using is a GA-Z68AP-D3 and the RAM i got is XMS3 CMX4GX3M1A1600C9. Will the fan on the Arctic Freezer 7 Pro rev. 2 be too close or will it just go over the RAM?

Anecdotal evidence: I have the Freezer 64 Pro which is essentially the same thing with a different bracket. They share the same thickness at 96mm.

This is teamed with an Asus M2N-SLI Deluxe and Crucial Ballistix Tracer and Corsair XMS2 memory and it all works. The only issue is that you will probably have to remove the cooler when you change/add RAM in the first slot. I can shimmy it in, but your sticks are just a touch taller than mine.

For reference you might want to compare the spacing between the socket on our motherboards. It looks to me that mine is tighter (which is good for you) but that's kind of subjective.

Also consider mounting your cooler vertically to completely alleviate any clearance issues you may have.

How much more taller is my RAM from your's? Both of my RAM sticks are in the white sockets. If i added more to the first sockets would i have any problems with the fan?

Now that I look at it, mine is actually slightly taller.

As I said above, you will be able to add RAM in all 4 slots, but the cooler will have to be uninstalled and reinstalled to add RAM in the closest slot.

Here is your RAM (left) and my RAM scaled to the same length:

Do you have to take the heat sink off to put more ram in the first slots or just the fan? Is the RAM under your fan too? What's the name of the model for the corsair RAM? Thank you for helping.

Off hand I don't know if you -have- to take the heat sink off to put the RAM in. I bought the extra RAM and heatsink as a package and remember it being a tight squeeze if I wanted to put the first stick in.

Honestly, it's not that big of a deal to reinstall the heatsink on the off change you want to upgrade your RAM.

You didn't have any problems with the XMS2 RAM touching the bottom of the Freezer 7 pro just a lttle bit? And how high was the heat sink compared to the RAM? I know it's kind of irrelevant but whats the name of the model for your RAM?

Nope, no problem at all.

Honestly, I don't know, probably a couple millimeters of clearance.

TWIN2X2048-6400

Here's the best way to sum it up for you: I've had this computer running for 7 years with this configuration and there have been no problems with overheating and it still works perfectly fine. My RAM both taller than yours as well as closer to the heatsink. It's very unlikely you would have problems using it with your system.
