Well, it seems Alan Wake is finally coming home .

So, what do you guys think ? I'm planning on buying this later perhaps; did you guys think it was a good game ?

More like an expansion of that ending. Its not like the game suddenly ended on a cliff hanger.

Although Alan writing "Return" should have been put in the original.

Well the main story continue in those two DLC's and answers what is going on was in DLC,too. It would be better if the DLC was covering let say,Alan in New York and events before the game,or or fpllowing the story from someone other perspective,for example that female Sherrif.

Am I the only one that gets my ass kicked when multiple people come out to attack? Because I started a new chapter and I was doing okay, suddenly like 6-7 guys come out and I'm dead. Haven't picked it up in months due to that part.

Alan doesn't meet the Taken until Alan Wake, so you don't have a game.

I'm a bit late to the game with this response but There's not much activity on this section of the forum anyway.

If you're surrounded then throw down a flash bang. If it's one of those sections where you're running through the woods then just use flares until you get to the next light. One good tip is to only lightly pull on the left trigger when you're aiming at a taken. When they get a bit too close for comfort fully press the trigger. It will cause them to recoil, giving you more time. For the big guys it's often best to just blast them with the flare gun, particularly if it's a taken with a chainsaw.

There's plenty of ammo in this game and it resets after every chapter so make no effort to conserve ammo. Use it when you need it.

Well allow me to bump this thread! After hearing a ton of good things about this game and general curiosity, I finally bought it. I'm really enjoying it so far. I'm only on Episode 2 right now and it's quite a challenge. I keep running out of ammo while being grossly outnumbered, leaving me to run away like a little girl. If anyone would be so kind to give me some tips, it would be greatly appreciated.

Also, I loved the Max Payne easter egg in the beginning of Episode 2. I love the implication that Max Payne was a character Alan created.

As I mentioned in the other AW topic that Cheat made, it was the same reason that forced me into giving this game up and selling it. I'd reached acertain checkpoint on the game, and upon loading the checkpoint, I'm instantly surrounded by 5-6 Taken, and have absolutely no ammo on me, and none whatsoever around me. I was trapped in a little section, and the only way out was to run past the Taken, but the fact that when you dodge one Taken and get attacked by another, then run out of breath, was no f*cking help whatsoever. Great game, but so frustrating.

I got the game on the ongoing Steam sale, and damn, I regret waiting this long to get it. I'm up to Ep. 3 right now and it keeps getting better and better. Remedy has created an amazingly surrealistic atmosphere in this game. And the stellar graphics serve the gameplay itself very well. Normally I would hate check point saves, but they're spaced correctly and haven't pissed me off yet, so I can't complain. Totally impressed so far.

And like with Max Payne, it looks like they've used the series Twin Peaks for a bit of inspiration. I say that because the game is set in north Washington state and I've so far heard reference to a "lamp lady" in the trailer park (there was a "log lady" in Twin Peaks).

Oh and the Nght Springs tv show is just awesome. Quantum Suicide, lmao.

I had the game a couple of years ago and from what I remember it's the only game to make me feel "cold". Wish I never sold it.

The Twin Peaks references Remedy has openly admitted are even more obvious to me now as I've seen the series and the movie, I bet it'd be cool to play through AW again. I tried reading the book, actually, but it wasn't that good, to be honest.

So guys, started playing AW again, so i'm stuck on the exact same spot, the bulldozer battle in Episode 3, so many taken coming, i've only got some shotgun ammo, a revolver and flares, any tips? btw am on the PC.

You should have saved a couple of flashbangs, they take that bitch down with ease . Is there not 3 supply boxes in that bulldozer area full of flares? (can probably get 6+) just go mad dropping them when overwhelmed or near the bulldozer. The bulldozer is quite easy to keep dodging so start off by taking out a couple of taken from a far with the revolver, if they get to close either dodge/drop a flare or switch to the shotgun to take them out quicker.
