im wondering if anybody knows of a game in which you drive emergency vehicles taking part i activities such as Police Pursuits, going to fires, driving an Ambulance to hospital etc, you get the idea

Saints Row 2 has side missions similar to the GTA III-era games where you attend fires and do police work, but of course it's not realistic.

If you mean like an actual driving game, like Midnight Club except with emergency vehicles (actully Midnight Club LA has a free Police car DLC pack so you can pretend to be in pursuit) then I don't think there is one. You can drive police cars and other emergency vehicles in Driver: San Fransisco it looks like, but I think it's only police pursuits you can take part in, no ambulance or fire missions.

thanks for the interesting info. I am actually looking for a simulator type or if not that, at least lots of realism
