whenever i try to change a file with the img tool i get a popup that says "dir file error! the file might be in use... exiting..." and it exits the program. can someone please tell me whats wrong and how to fix it

Check if the archive isn't write-protected. Or try changing files using spark 0.9

Oh yeah, ive had that error, took me ages to install the player mod because of it, but it was worh it.

this error come out if you rename you gta3.img or move it to other place, make sure the gta3.dir in the same folder AND THEY HAVE THE SAME NAME

The problem for the topic starter is likely to be one of the much more common ones:

• Right-click gta3.img > Properties > Uncheck Read-only

• The game must not be running when you edit game files. Edit files, then start the game to test.

Problem unchecked the read-only box and still came up. Closed the game down and still came up any other suggestions please? I also got the DIR. file in the same folder as the IMG file.

hey doctor emmet i'm avin tha same problem and i have done all of the things like uncheck read-only and make sure the gta3.img and gta.dir are in the same folder and its pissin me off now lol
so if ppl wanna help me and doctor emmet then help us much appreciated

Done it had to download G-IMG so what you need to do is go on google type in download G-IMG. Then open G-IMG up and then open the gta3.img and it says "Would you like to make this read-only file readable?" Click yes then done!

right click it, click properties, uncheck "Read only box". that should work

If anyone gets the i/o error 32 while using the IMg tool
Then click on commands and select rebuild archive .
