Acquiring the Everything Proof STRETCH without using any cheats.

Mission: Salvatore’s called a meeting

Preparations: 1. Complete the Paramedic mission to have the “Infinite sprint” advantage.

2. Store a vehicle at the Portland safe house garage.

Some of the initial steps mentioned below have already been explained in guides/FAQs written long back by the early discoverers of the unique car and the method to acquire it using cheats. I am just elaborating the basic steps and my own attempts in successfully bagging the car without using the cheats.

Here is how I did it:

Trigger the mission at Tony Cipriani’s house and proceed towards Joey’s auto garage.
Don’t enter the blue marker there, instead get a car and go to the right wall (the one to your left when you face the main door of the garage) of Joey’s garage. Park the car with its rear side lined up with the garage wall near the corner edge, leaving some space between the car and the corner. You can also experiment with other sides of the garage and different cars as well. In my case, for some unknown reason I had success with the above mentioned side and a Sentinel car most of the times.

Now facing the space between the car and the corner take a few steps back and then sprint towards the wall. If you get it right you will sprint right through the wall and enter the interiors of the garage. This might take a few tries and lots of patience but once you get the hang of it no problems thereof.

Once inside the garage all you have to do is, get in the Stretch, start the car and drive in the reverse towards the back of the garage, as stated in earlier guides. Shortly your car will be falling through blue hell before landing on the road below the elevated rail tracks behind Joey’s garage with a huge insane stunt bonus to your credit.

Take the car towards the Portland beach, behind Salvatore’s mansion and position it with the back wheel facing the sea, just about enter the water. Slowly & steadily back up the car, taking care not to drown it completely. Just as you get the “mission failed” message drive forward quickly clear out of the water. You will lose a small measure of health in the process.

Next drive the Stretch to your safe house at Hepburn heights, empty the garage of any previously stored cars and park the Stretch inside the garage diagonally, corner to corner. You will find the garage door not closing immediately when you alight from the Stretch and step away from the garage. Just get inside a different car, to make the garage door close, subsequently saving the EP Stretch inside (This is where storing a car before starting the mission comes in handy)

The EP Stretch is Bullet/Damage/Fire and Explosion Proof, but not Rhino and flip proof in addition to being agonizingly slow with a huge turning radius. Anyway it’s a unique car and worthy of every effort to obtain it.
PS: As you progress through the missions Staunton Island will eventually open enabling the availability of a bigger/spacious garage at the safe house where you can move your EP Stretch later in the game.

Great work!
Can you post a screenshot with the exact position of your Sentinel?
I have read about this method somewhere, but it never worked for me.
With cheats it is quite easy, but without speeding up the time, no way. Once upon a time I have sprinted into that wall about an hour, different spots and angles, to no avail.

The goal is to confuse the game and cause it to push you on the other side.

I'd suggest using an ambulance (which is how I'd been doing it). When the passenger (right) side of the rear box section is parked flat up against the wall you want to go through, a gap exists between the cab section's passenger door and the wall (i.e. the box section is wider than the front cab). This is the spot you should try to sprint into. Doing so will have the nasty effect of pushing the ambulance away from the wall - which is not what you want - so try parking an additional vehicle along the ambulance's driver side before you try sprinting into the gap to prevent that.

When you sprint into the gap, you should become stuck in place before you can even get near the box section (if you are sliding upwards, you did not park the ambulance close enough to the wall in the first place). If you are stuck in place, keep trying to sprint further toward the rear box portion. The game will eventually give up and pop you on the other side of whatever obstacle you are trying to get past...whether it's at Joey's garage to aquire the CP Stretch, or at the Portland hideout to unlock it's door and save the game in your prison duds after forcing your way out of playing the intro mission.

Undoubtedly, the speedup code makes passing collision barriers MUCH easier by comparison. However, this method works just as well (and does not require cheat codes to perform).

If you are trying to collect all 8 of the storable proofed vehicles in a single game without cheating, it's necessary to push at least one of them across the water with a boat...to store in one of the other garages before the bridge has been repaired. IMO this is pretty easily done with the CP Stretch...since it will remain in memory so long as the mission is still active. Rather than use the beach below Sal's tho, it's a quicker trip by parking on the cement pier in Portland straight across from where you see the Ft. Staunton ruins in the distance (a flat "ledge" of coastline exists there). You can use an ambulance parked in the tunnel entrance sidewalk to defeat collisions above and just run over to Staunton. Returning to the cement pier with a fishing boat, you can dive into the water next to the pier and (because the waterline is so near to ground level) reappear right next to the car. Push it off the edge and use the flat rear section of the boat to carefully nudge the car over to the flat spot of coastline in Staunton.

NOTE: If the car in question is small enough, you can drive it right into the fishing boat itself and "drive" across the water to the opposite shore. Exiting the car there will cause you to fall though the boat and reappear on shore (where you can get in the boat proper and then push the car up onto the shore).

I made a walkthrough of this on youtube. No need for speed up time cheats!

This post has been changed to delete "unneccary", "cheating" methods of getting this car on the PC. sarcasm.gif

Thanks Nukey, it was great piece of explanation. I myself prefere to fly to Portland by Dodo but I have never thought that is even possible to push a car with a boat. Great stuff. I have also read about your method for geting Dead Skunk Manana to a Portland, in other thread. You should write a guide one day, I think, the old ones seem outdated now. cookie.gif cookie.gif cookie.gif

Nah...there are plenty of guides out there already. Lancet Jades updated his special vehicle FAQ @ Gamefaqs with the info, tho. It was a fun puzzle to figure out.

@fireguy109
No offense intended or taken, really smile.gif
Believe me, I've been in dozens of arguments regarding what consititutes "cheating" and what doesn't. Some consider ANY use of game glitches to be cheating, as well (because it's not exactly what the designers had in mind).

If that definition was used, it's impossible to aquire the CP Stretch. Defeating collisions is the only way into the garage in an unmodded game.
Similary, just aquiring and storing most of the unique vehicles could be considered to be cheating...since that too is (most of the time) not what the game's designers intended.

In that sense, even jumping from girder-to-pipe across the Callahan bridge gap could be considered to be cheating. Even tho it doesn't take advantage of any glitch, it's still accessing Staunton Island before the player was intended to via the storyline.

The only possible exception for such a broad definition being used would be Ray's Bulletproof Patriot - since he specifically GIVES you the car after the mission.

One constant is that any user modification of the game is considered to be cheating, tho. As far as that goes, the garages themselves could be modded to store any vehicle brought into them as proofed without even bothering to aquire ones from the storyline ;-)

It's still a useful thread since it mentions the CP Stretch at all (a reader might not already be aware that even exists in the game). Also for mentioning that parts of a vehicle can extend outside of the garage and still be safely stored.

Well, I suppose you could still do it like in my video w/o cheats, but you'd have to either stick it in the water and move it by boat, or just use it as your only car through the rest of the Portland missions until the bridge is fixed (never have more than one other car, otherwise it'll disappear).

Sorry dude, my second post was basically spam, and I got a warning for it (my only one ever, grr)

you don't need to complete the paramedic missions for infinite sprint. just tap X (for PS2) really fast and you can sprint forever.

Don't you mean "instead of dragging it though the water"? wink.gif
EDIT: driving it into the water to fail the mission...gotcha.

Anyway, your method is unreliable (at least on PS2). The Stretch frequently gets stuck sideways in the Sex Kitten Club doorway instead of falling though the ground - which IS present even though it's invisible inside the building. Getting pulled out of the Stretch by angry Triads is also a possibilty (if they are already hating you)...and if the abandoned Stretch is out of camera view as it is lodged in a wall, it may be erased for good (unless you left the mission still in progress). Tho it's true that the "over the shoulder" view can be used to counter getting pulled out.

It IS a nice trick, tho. It just doesn't have anything over the "river push" method IMO (which has been cut down to just a minute or two by pushing it straight across from the concrete near the Porter Tunnel entrance to the Ft. Staunton slope).

UPDATE:
After some experimentation with a few narrow sites, I found that the closed gate of the subway itself makes an alternative location for the PS2 version. Drive the Stretch down in reverse on the North side of the stairs...slamming into the gate. Keep reversing until the entire passenger side of the vehicle is up against the gate (the rear will be slightly pushed away from the gate). Exit...and go up top to find a large vehicle. It's pretty easy to swipe a Bellyup Fish van that are always driving here. Drive that one down the North side as well until it's snug against the rear of the Stretch. Then, get back in the Stretch and keep reversing...turning the wheel to the left as you do. If the car starts to roll, quickly switch your turning direction until it is upright again. After a while, the car will start going THROUGH the gate. Once the entire passenger side is past the barrier, you can use the forward direction to get the rest of the way past.
Once inside the subway, just drive down the stairs to the loading platform and head toward Staunton. Travel in reverse to get back up to ground level.

This process is -very- time-consuming, and accidental rollovers are extremely common since the gated staircase is not level ground (it takes some practice to deal with steering out of them)...but it is possible to accomplish. Hell, the car may roll just trying to get OUT of the subway later! angry.gif Just as before tho...passing Triad peds will attempt to yank you out of the car. Keep the camera over your shoulder the entire time your door is exposed to them to prevent that.

IMO the river push method is still much easier to do by comparison wink.gif

Just for your knowledge.
This method exactly was introduced by Russian community member Mustein
Missions in memory was discovered by someone named AlSar biggrin.gif back in 2009 as "Taxi mission in any car"
Mustein later found out their role in obtaining URV's (Unique and Rare Vehicles).

Unfortunately, using that method can leave an unremovable pink blip (indicating Joey's front door) on the minimap...even if the mission is played through later.

Nice trick, tho. But I'll stick with running though the wall using an ambulance. It sometimes takes less time to perform than having to go there on foot anyway.
