I agree strongly with point 3 after yesterday, was at the bakery, pretty small cosy little bakery, I was waiting to be served once this ladies coffee was made, as she got it I opened the door (opens inward) for her, I made an obvious effort since the door.was.3-4 steps away from me, she lifted her chin, didn't even glance at me and walked straight out, no thanks, no smile and she didn't touch the door, I'm not a f*cking door man bitch.

Whats wrong with no acknowledgment?

You did it to be nice, not to get credit.

Nothing annoys me. I'm just a nice person.

That's rich, nothing annoys you? Another thing that annoys me is when people self-proclaim to be nice.

Well yes I was being polite, and it's a two way street, you are polite to others, others should be polite to you and vice versa.
If you don't agree then you must be incredibly impolite, never say thanks, acknowledge when someone is being nice and you probably don't say please, Point is, you are claiming to be nice therefore you must be polite, why are you polite if it doesn't matter like you stated?

I agree with finn.

I too hate it when people do that. A simple thanks or a simple smile isn't much to ask for. To me it's just rude otherwise. Kinda like those people who bump into you and don't say sorry.

If you aren't a doorman , don't act like one. In work theres a lot of doors, and during lunch or at the end of the day when everyone's leaving people hold open the doors on the way out, not necessarily getting upset when no-one thanks them. Its just common politeness . yeah you should thank them but doesn't it feel hollow and pointless if you get angry and rant online that no-one thanked you? Seriously its just holding a door.

It's a little different when there is only two people in a small local bakery in a small town as opposed to a large office with loads of people leaving at once.
Obviously you ignored my post about politeness and how it works, I'll rant about whatever I like on the internet, in fact this topic serves that exact purpose.
After this I'll have to head over to grumpy old formumers to rant about morons I encounter on the internet.

New mothers. They think the world owes them a f*cking favour just because they squeezed a screaming brat out of their vaginas. Childbirth stopped being a miracle hundreds of years ago so f*ck off back to your house and get your smelly, c*nting children out of my /Rant

Pretty obvious you were trying to pick her up, by your statment you 'had to walk 3-4 steps to the door'.
She most likely didn't like your looks or attitude, dude. lol.gif

-When hookers fail to wash before a nights work.
-When junkies constantly pester you for money so they "can get the bus home". No, now f*ck off you little desease infested smackhead.

What, you use hookers? Or is it just when you walk past one.

I've never actually seen a hooker in real life. I don't think we have them around here.
Do hookers even operate like in the TV shows and games where they stand at the side of the road because I've never seen that.

Or do they like have some elaborate covers for things (pun intended) with phone calls and sh*t?

Over here in Cleveland, they recently busted a prostitution ring. They were operating in the back of massage parlors...

You are a grumpy gabe aren't you? biggrin.gif

The way i see it is there's no point to be hung up on the little things in life.

My mother raised me to be polite to everyone. If they are rude, who cares? It doesn't affect my life that much.

Seriously, you should've given her a very sarcastic "You're Welcome!" as she continued on.

This made me chuckle.

And mothers who let their ugly sack of fat continue to scream on planes, in stores, restaurants, etc.

I distinctly remember as a 3-5 year old, if I were to continue yelling or pouting to get something, I would get a swift hit to the side of the face. A few sniffles later, and I wouldn't make a peep. I don't remember getting hit often, though, because I learned to keep my mouth shut in public. It seems most parents fail to do this nowadays. The other day, while waiting in line at a store, a mother continued to unload her cart onto the belt, as the child yelled and screamed "MOMMY" while sitting two feet away on the cart. The entire 5+ minutes, the mother didn't make a sound or gesture to the child. She acted as though it wasn't even there, which, for me and the shoppers adjacent to me, meant a whining, ignored child to be forced to listen to. facedesk.gif

I wanted to hit the child, but I wanted to hit the mother more, due to her complete lack of attention towards her little demon noise maker.

Parents can't chastise their kids or some mouthy Do-Gooder would call the police for child abuse.
These do-gooders seem to think that a polite conversation explaning what the proper conduct in society should be will be understood by the child. When as you say, a swift swat to the behind (which has worked for thousands of years) will do it quicker. That is before the kid makes it to high-school (which will be too late.)

This is less about something happening in public, and more about a problem as a whole.

The amount of 18-20 year old girls having kids, moving into a new house with their boyfriend who likely doesn't even have a job, and soon after becoming engaged.

What's the rush?

I believe this problem is only common in the UK because the way our housing system is!

Here in the U.S. the quicker they can drop a kid the sooner they get the welfare money. And, if they are living "on their own" they get more. When the BF moves in (on the sly) they get bonked up quicker which leads to more money, etc, etc.

What annoys me in public are people who talk on the phone very loudly for everybody to hear what they got to say like their conversation is important. For example, a ''business'' person sitting in the coffee shop.
