I been having GTAIV for a while. I used to mod San Andreas a lot and LOVED to mod it.

However, i had problems with modding my GTA 4 game because it's bought from steam. Can someone please take the time to answer some questions for me.

Am i wasting my timing looking into installing some mods since it's a steam game? I also would like some recommendations for mods to install. I dont mind replacing files or mods that have instructions.

This i would like are highly modded maps, long draw distances, custom cars, very fast speed for the street bikes and of course a 100% game save. If there's other mods you think id enjoy, please feel free to recommend them!

edit* I'm downloading Gostown i think it's called. Looks like the best thing to get.

Steam allows modding (i have Steam myself) . then according to your liking just browse the DL sites for what you'd like . Gostown is a standalone map , if you install it you won't be able to play GTA IV unless of course you made a backup which i highly suggest you to do . i won't enumerate all faboulous mods out there as it would take days to complete . but here is the "basis"

- xliveless asi loader : allows asi scripts loading and to bypass GFWL login . be sure to dl version for your game version

main tools :

- open iv : poweful modding tool . allows textures import/export , objects localization on map , wpl editing , audio viewer and much more
- GTA vehicles mod installer : allows vehicles install in seconds , and reverse to original vehicle in seconds too
- edit iv : for timecyc editing tutorial
- GTA IV handling editor : for handling editing tutorial
