1. Is it possible to install a new GFX card(nothing special, 128 or 256 MB) that can support the resolution 1440x900?

2.What is the difference between XP Service pack 2 and 3?

3.If I have no chance to install a new GFX, what's a recommended Motherboard(or whatever you need to install a new GFX)?

1. Yes, all crap GPU's can support resolutions up to 1600x1200 so it's not a problem.

2. Apart from new security fixes and some new features, that aren't used by a regular user, there's really no difference. But it's still HIGHLY reccomended to get the latest service pack.

It's very subjective. If you get a new motherboard, you'll probably need a new PSU, RAM and processor too. How much do you want to spend?

If I can install a new GFX, I won't buy a motherboard. As I said, i'll only buy one if needed.
