I want to know that which storyline of the GTA game in GTA Series is the best in you guys views...
This time, not talking about which Protagonist you like most, which setting of the GTA game in GTA Series is the best... it is all about your favourite Storyline of one of the GTA game in the GTA Family. that_guy2057_evilgrin.gif

I personally choose Vice City. I mean it doesn't sound original now because so many movies and games are probably like it but I think it was one of the first if not the first to come up with such a storyline.

Tommy Vercetti got set up by Sonny and did 15 years, he gets out of jail but they don't want him in LC no more, so they send him down south for their operations there. The deal go's bad and Tommy is yet again ambushed. Sonny is still pissed off even more now and Tommy has to get the money back and build an empire.

However he later or more less knows in the end that Sonny betrayed him, so therefore keeps his own empire and kills Sonny.

-Vice City
-Vice City Stories
-San Andreas

Both Vice City, & VSC went into pretty deep detail about the story, well, Stories went into more detail. Vice City had that feel to it, mainly
the city, but it's story line gave it that magic. Years passed after the release of VSC and we all wondered what'd be like before Vice City,
then came Vice City Stories which in my opinion, had the best storyline.

When i think about it GTA IV storyline wins. It wasn't based on any movie and the atmosphere was just perfect. But VC and SA story were great too.

People really need to watch Scarface and play VC. While it obviously draws inspiration it's not a copy and paste job.

In saying that GTA IV's story is the best IMO.

I don't think IV had a great storyline. It was ok but it wasn't great, there were quite a few pointless irrelevant things that took place. Personally I think Vice City had the best story line seeing as how throughout the story things you had done in the beginning in-turn effect how the story progressed later on. For example when you kill that cook in the back alley and take his cell-phone. Later on in the game his contacts and others who had his number contact you through the phone expecting him to pick up but then they realize it's someone different. Or that one mission for Diaz when you dress up like a Cuban and start a war between the Haitians and Cubans which you later end up being apart of. All the missions in Vice City were connected in some way. Most in IV were quite irrelevant as to what was actually going on, for example all of Bruices missions or Ray's missions with the diamonds. A lot of what happened in IV didn't make much sense either, like Dimitri's hard-on to kill you. There was no need for him to betray Niko in the first place and after running him out of Hove Beach it should have been left at that. No more, no less. GTA IV itself is great game, I play it everyday but as for it being a "great" storyline it sucked.

Dimitri's betrayal was just executed differently to what we're used to seeing. He had connections with Bulgarin. The whole diamond angle to me was a cross over point Niko never intended to get involved in even though they were on the ship he was on. It set up the under tone of the game.

Sure there were filler missions, but the majority of the missions for Ray, U.L Paper, Gravelli were closely linked in order to help get Darko to the U.S.

Lets also remember VC was a rags to riches game where the motivations were very different. GTA IV's story was gritty revenge and Niko's realization that the American Dream wasn't what he thought it would be.

GTA IV has a far better story and this coming from a long time VC fan.

I hated the story of IV. It was depressing, the game was depressing, and the mood was depressing. Im not saying i hate GTA IV, i just dont like the story. The ending was sad with either ending.

I voted for TLaD because I think the story, cut-scenes and all that stuff was perfectly directed to be both realistic and enjoyable. I loved the game atmosphere and the storyline was a cherry on the top of a cake.

I wasn't sure whether to vote for IV or VC but it was IV because VC isn't 100% original.

GTA IV had, by far, the best storyline in the GTA Series. Vice City would come second.
