What's your favorite bank, store, business heist in a movie? Show the scene and explain why?
The Dark Knight - Robbery Scene
I chose this scene because many things are unique. The masks are of course, a recommendation to the Joker as he's the one who basically plotted the whole thing. The heist starts with the henchmen elaborating their many skills to bring the heist together.
What I like about it is the fact that they betray one another to get themselves higher, like if someone pushes another of a ladder to get higher. Once almost everyone is dead, a henchman threatens another, but is soon killed by ANOTHER henchman hired by the other, but THAT henchman is killed by the other who reveals himself as the one and only, Joker.
Basically the scene is Joker taking in the heist, and making sure he gets everything for himself. I also like how he's mute the whole time.
The opening heist from The Thomas Crown Affair (1968) comes to mind. I couldn't find a video of it on Youtube, so you'll have to rent it for yourself which I heartily recommend.
Ocean's 11 casino robbery. I couldn't find a clip of it on YouTube.
Good thing as well. Clips should be kept out of this topic, they'll ruin great climaxes that some of us have yet to endure. Ocean's 11 and 13, how could I forget? Loved those movies to pieces. A shame that 12 wasn't really a bank heist
