I guess that guy meant something about re-downloading from STEAM which is perfectly legal tounge.gif and probably how he got the game in the first place, he must be suggesting that there might have been a problem with the initial install.

Obviously noone's suggesting an illegal download (or atleast I hope they aren't)

I think its an OS compatibility issue:

can you post detailed specs..?? I mean OS version/ 64or32 bit? and DX version?

I had the exact same problem earlier, so I need to know before I can suggest a workaround

hmm,

well in the graphics options is there a frame limiter? if so turn it on, there are similar issues with VC and vista and this resolves the issue,

if there's no frame limiter option in GTA III (its been ages and I don't remember) then try running the game in compatibility mode for win 98, that might resolve it.

Tell me if it helps smile.gif

tried both of your suggestions, neither worked

tried the compatibility mode, kept doing the same

tried the video settings, it won't even let me use the main screen properly

this is what shows a few seconds after i get into the title screen:

then away with you.
Legal copies only. Support rockstar. Pirating causes layoffs from companies and game companies to lose money. Why risk the game series money? Pay the dam* 6.99 on steam for it. angry.gif
