Since the game was top-down and obviously not realistic, and because of the technical limitation of the DS (where it was first released), I don't mind the cartoons. In fact, I feel like I'm watching an animated comic! Fun...

I remember a scene in the mission ''Missed the boat'' where the Italian dealer says:''What, you calling me funny, do I amuse you?! '' An obvious Goodfella quote which couldn't really be done by speech.

TBH, the cutscenes are not so bad on the DS version, where you can see what's going on around you if you look exclusively at the top screen.

I would have prefered it if GTA Chinatown Wars had actual cutscenes with actual voice actors speaking the character's lines. However, I can still tolerate those cartoon cutscenes, although I don't like them as much.

The cutscenes were great with a lot of action and interesting dialogues. Games doesn't necessarily need voice actors especially not in a game like Chinatown Wars.

I liked them, though it's so bizarre to me -- having Houser dialogue appear on screen with no one to recite it except myself and/or voices in my head.

A wonderful game but what really bothered me was that you could nit hear any actual music.
