So I used a cheat in order to complete the NRG500 challenge and I deactivated it soon after I finished the race but when I save the game it still gives me the "one or more cheats are activated!!!!" WHAT THE HELL IS THE ISSUE????!!!! I turned it off right after the race before I saved ANYTHING!!!! I've already had to start over TWICE!!!! Once because of the cheats and another time I accidentally deleted the game!!!! I have to leave for Military Basic Training on the 1st of the month and I really would like to get this game 100% complete before I leave!!!! I'D BE REALLY PISSED OFF IF I HAVE TO START A 4TH ATTEMPT AT THIS GAME!!!!

When you Cheat you set a Flag. You can turn off some Cheats, but you can't reset the Flag. It's there to let anyone who looks know you didn't really do the game correctly.

that happened to me plenty of times. all I did was kept trying to do the challenge without cheats. it actually became easier after the 7th try and I finally completed the challenge successfully.

The game is passable without cheats (and I didn't use any until I got 100%).

The way I passed NRG-500 challenge was I collected the checkpoint when I had 0 seconds left, and it froze the timer (known issue since GTA 3).

Afterwards I went back and re-did the mission because I felt bad about it.

Even if you disable a cheat, the game will consider you cheated, that's how it works.
