Donations to research would actaully make a real difference but that could involve effort. Just look at the group as well, it makes me equally annoyed and baffled how people can create and post such crap.

Because that's all FB is about these days, seeing what you can put on your wall/page that will garner the most 'likes'. It's the reason I see so much drama on my FB wall, because everyone has realised that writing stuff such as "I'm going to f*ck you up when I find you...." get's a sh*t ton of 'likes' and comments. It's also the reason that so many people believe they're philosophers every time they write a status, solving all of lifes' problems in one sentence/paragraph.

I used to join a few pages/groups back in the day, and I can safely say they've gotten worse as time goes on. Atleast they used to actually write stuff up that had something to do with the group/page...

Your post reflects a lot on a post I made in the Grumpy old Forumers thread a month ago or 2. It's when I complained about people taking advantage of facebook by using it as some sort of diary or journal. Absolutely annoying. Stuff like "had a great time at the park today" or "got a 2300 on my SAT's woo hoo" is totally fine, but sh*t like "why can't he love me? sad face x4" or "what should be my profile pic guize?" is f*cking crossing the line. I remembered when I joined 2 years ago when facebook had it's simplistic and somewhat boring interface, (which was much better than the interface we have now) people didn't use to say sh*t like this for some reason; at least from my experience. Overall though it's ridiculous.

@illegal_luggage - There needs to be a rule against posting those pictures. I mean of course it isn't gonna help cancer victims and whatever but what's the point of posting stuff that people are already aware of?

I don't give jack about what she thinks so before unfriending her I replied with a "NO ONE CARES." I was quite satisfied knowing that 32 other people agreed with me by 'liking' my comment.

Either way I don't use Facebook as my primary site in the internet, like many people in the world. I only visit it when I have to see things in my e-mail, so I notice all the updates and give it a quick look.

Yes, but then what the hell are you supposed to put as a status? Over the many times I've seen FB statuses complained about on here, I've come to the conclusion that you can't write about your day, song lyrics, love life, philosophical statements, drama....so then you're left wondering what you can write about? I'd rather see someone update their status with, "Had a great day at the park with...", rather than the constant, "gonna f*ck you up when I see you..."...You'll never please everyone, and you're writing a status to a full audience, so not everyone is going to appreciate it, as blitz has proved in her post. Seems more of a personal feud than anything else.

FB has become so dumbed down over the years it's starting to become a joke. I remember being able to join a group and discuss stuff in an adult way, but f*ck me, it's now aimed at those unintelligent f*cks who only know how to write a couple of words, majority of which are expletives. I joined a group about a TV programme, and now all that group does is posts pictures of lasses, or these stupid meme pictures, or stupid sh*t like that.

Twitter needs to learn to stick to what it's doing now.
