havent read it all as this seems to be 22 pages of people not understanding what this is even.
but this is nice! have we sorted out what vehicles were in max payne 3 so we can sort out what vehicles was not in the game? would make it easier to see what vehicles is from gta v!
I think this files are from GTA4... Development of Maxpayne3 started in 2008... We got a Coverstory of Maxpayne3 in 2009 from gameinformer, then the game got delayed for an unknown reason. tldr I think this is not from gta5
No way. Theres absolutely no way they originally intended on having Snowplough, Skimobile, or Bobselighs in Liberty City.
And you believe that you need a snowmobile in los santos? sure lol Maybe this files are from a prototyping stage. Maybe from Agent?

Text is just...text.
Yeah but the text data files in most scripts for video games have to have a reference, otherwise the game will crash. This is only if the text has no hashtag or symbol to prevent the engine from trying to load the file(s) associated with the line in the data. Example: car_brzhatch, car_brzhatch, car, CAR_BRZHATCH, CAR_BRZHATCH, VEH@STD, NULL, 100, 999, 0.2225, 0.2225, 0.3, 1, 1.0 DEFAULT_CAMERA But adding the tag infront: #car_brzhatch, car_brzhatch, car, CAR_BRZHATCH, CAR_BRZHATCH, VEH@STD, NULL, 100, 999, 0.2225, 0.2225, 0.3, 1, 1.0 DEFAULT_CAMERA would tell the egnine not to load the files. GTA SA definately uses this method.
I'm also guessing that it goes car_brzhatch, car_brzhatch, car, CAR_BRZHATCH, CAR_BRZHATCH, VEH@STD, NULL, 100, 999, 0.2225, 0.2225, 0.3, 1, 1.0 DEFAULT_CAMERA Model, Texture, ObjectType, Collision file, unknown, unknown, unknown, and then follwed by the coordinates of something and finally the camera angle.
EDIT: If you read the actual data file it tells you the roles of the sequence, my bad I didn't read the whole thing.

So has anyone else actually confirmed the file in their copy of MP3?
No, the only thing that (as far as I'm aware) we can confirm right now is that a file "common.rpf" is found on both discs of MP3 for X360; that file seems to also be opened in "MP3 Extractor" by twisted89, seen in a screenshot. And this file seems to contain (among other things) the vehicles.ide.
As far as I know, and I'm not a game modder, the MP3 files can't be extracted from the .rpf container file without knowing a certain AES key, and we do not know that, noone posted it. And MP3 Extractor apparently won't be released publicly.
Interesting, wonder how this guy managed to get them out then.
I am not sure why GTA V vehicle files would be in there, if anyone could explain? send a PM Preferably since this is my last post before i head to work.
He wrote his own tool for it, named "MP3 Extractor" - or maybe it's just a modified version of SparkIV, I don't know, I'm not a game modder.
And apparently, if what Blaster_nl writes is true, the key can just be read from the .exe file (or .xex file for Xbox360, maybe default.xex, I don't know but that's the only .xex file I found on both discs). I'm not sure about the legality of posting the key though, that's probably different in each country, but I suppose Rockstar could ask for it to be deleted anyway and the admins would comply. That's what PM is for
A user named "twisted89"... - uploaded a video to Youtube called "bad accident" - has an account at forum.xda-developers.com (development) - has an account at digitalchocolate.com (some sort of gaming site) - has an account at stackoverflow.com (development) - has an account at vampirefreaks.com (spooky!) - has an account at gamecih.com (android cheating?!) - has an account at mingles.com (dating, homie got dat g look down ) - has an account at github.com (development, contains C# project "RPF-structure", might be more or less interesting...) - has an account at soundcloud.com - has most likely many more accounts at different sites.
I can't say which are actually his accounts and which aren't and I'm not trying to DOX the guy, I was just interested.
However, maybe he should consider using more different nicknames online for the sake of privacy... (not an attack on your person dude, but all of that comes up on page 1 of Google => your nick)

Nice! So snowy mountains are very plausible then. Thanks for the insight.
Seriously though on seasons, it would be amazing to see that huge mountain in the trailer, overtime become snowcapped. As the shot seems to have been taken in the summer time.
Just imagine that same shot in the winter. The trees with no leaves, blizzard weather, eight inche of snow on the ground, the hikers in winter gear!
It's not going to hurt Rockstar, it's only a list of vehicles and even if it is GTA V related, it can't be complete because there's some left out from the trailer.

Okay I can going to clear this up!
This was a extract from MP3 Files on Xbox360 the game got leaked over a week ago, we have done so much. Twisted89/Me (Fantaseb) have managed to mod the files. I can confirm this which has been shown on the first page was sent to the Thread owner by me. Nothing is special they just left some "Probable" GTAV reference inside the files.
Oh and I forgot to say Blaster_nl the way to get 360 files open is different. We will not say how You can just load from the XEX/Defualt, there is more to it

98 viewers of this thread right now i guess i never realized what i was doing
i truly hope this won't hurt rockstar games in any way
This for me is a dead giveway that it's FAKE.
Or that he wasn't sure if he should share this info? This is 100% GTA V coding that was left over in the parts of RAGE that have been used between both games.
Leaking out information can be bad for a company. For R*, I don't think it will do much. If R* want the thread to be removed they will contact Tank, or someone else here.
