After trying both of the patches and I couldn't decide which one I should put, I made this poll. For now I have patch 1.0.4.0 which gives me 35 FPS.

What's your choice?

Patch for, for performance and the environment mod. I was also kind of phasing out GTAIV by the time patch 7 came along, anyway.

well, 1.0.4.0 gives the best performance. but 1.0.7.0 gives the best quality. since my rig is powerful enough to run IV with 1.0.7.0 on highest with over 30 FPS, i use it. but on (for example) my laptop, which isn't that powerful, i used to use 1.0.4.0 where i had the graphics on med/high with 20 FPS.

for what i can see, u should maybe stick to 1.0.4.0, since 1.0.7.0 gives a FPS drop

Patch 1.0.4.0 is much better and for the pixalated shadows you can fix them with the motion blur filter(after some shader editing of corse),this filter also will smooth the trees and make a minor anti-aliasing effect,it's not working on patch 1.0.7.0,in the end will get the much better image quality without losing performence

Nice and how you edit this shader? Can you post it for download (edited shader or tool about that)?Or you just make a praise yourself?

i use 1070 for amd machines. 1040 for intel core 2 duo/quad

Use either 1.0.0.4 or 1.0.7.0. 1.0.0.4 is not the same as 1.0.4.0. It has all the performance of 1.0.4.0 but has more fixes AFAIK.
