Hi my computer configuration is as follows:
Windows XP SP3
Intel® HD graphics
Intel i3 3.30 GHz
2.85 GB Ram

When I run GTA SA the mouse can only be used to highlight the options but cannot be used to select it. Neither can I use the mouse to move the camera or to do actions specified to the respective mouse buttons nor can I use the scroll wheel. Please help me as I want to play this game very badly sad.gif

Thnx in advance.

Your game is Version 1? Or do you have V2?
Are you playing with the DVD in the Drive?
You don't have modifications installed?
Try running it in W98 campatibility?

I dont know which version it is(It is the downloaded version and i am running it from my thumb drive and not from my dvd drive). I haven't installed any mods. I also tried running it in windows 98/ME compatibility mode but I get some error.

Downloaded from which site?
The Version number will be in the lower right corner of the Menu screen.

Well, I think you have solved yourown problem. smile.gif
I am sure you won't have any problem if you get the legal Original Game.
There is no help to found here for Pirated (warez/torrent) games.
Where to (Buy) Download:
Direct2Drive.com (for PC and MAC)
SteamPowered.com

Rockstar Warehouse for boxed games:
Buy Now PS2, XBOX, PC.
Rockstar Site
Also generally available at on-line sites…
Amazon.com (I got a replacement copy for 10.00$US)
and,
E-Bay (you might find a First Edition if you’re lucky),
GameStop, K-Mart, Wal-Mart, and their dot coms, etc.
also, if you’re lucky some local Pawn shops, Swap meets/Flea Markets (But, beware of Pirated games. The Game comes on a single DVD not CD’s.
A Note for potential Modders:
Modding is easy with First Edition (Version 1 games are Hard to find).
Not so easy unless you work at it with Second Edition (Version 2 games on a DVD Disc. These are Currently available.)
Version 3 games are programmed to Not able to be Modded. (Downloads).
Although it may be possible to do limited modifications of the scripts.

Hey lil weasel I appreciate your help but my friend also downloaded the game. I tried setting the cpu affinity to 1 but it worked only once in the main menu. Now what should I do?

The setting of the infinity should have on the "0" processor as the active one.

A clean new install.
You downloaded from Direct2Drive.com or SteamPowered.com?
With "0" as the infinity setting.
Running on Administrative Privileges.
Using Win 98 Mode.

So... you didn't purchase the Game?
You've aquired the Game through the kindness of your friend?

Windows 98 Compatibility mode should have fixed it, it happens on both pirated and non-pirated games, it's a driver bug with the newest Windows' releases. But bear in mind that after selecting W98 mode the savegames will move to Public/GTA SA user Files.
