Adjustments: Make sure your Contrast, Saturation and Brightness are all MAX. This way, you can see your targets better.
REMEMBER TO CROUCH FOR STABILITY
Sniping in GTAIV is all about
Accuracy and
Timing. When you combine both Accuracy and Timing together, you get a successful killing blow.
The main principals are;
1.
Preserving ammo.2.
Staying out of Sight/Range from the targets. (Keeping Distance)3.
And avoiding attention. It all depends on which type of Sniper your comfortable with.
For me, I often use the PSG-1 (Advanced Sniper)
ACCURACYBeing Accurate is very important, since the Snipers do NOT have Auto Aim; you are going to have to be precise when aiming with the scope.
The best way to take out a target is by Shooting the
Head.
The head is a 2 shot kill with armor on.
Without any armor, it is a one shot kill.Shooting other parts of the body are 3 shots or more depending on the Armor/Health of that certain target. The most important body parts to snipe are the
Head and the
Chest. To indicate that you've hit your target, there will be a little splatter/splurg of red blood.
TIMINGMoving Targets are the hardest to kill, (Unless if they are moving directly at you...)
If the target is moving Right or Left, you do not aim at the head, you aim in front of the head using the Mill-Dot.
This is the Mill-Dot.
The Mill-Dot measures the Time in which the Bullet will hit.It is also very important on Moving Targets such as Cars and Copters(I'll get to vehicles in a bit)
You WILL have to use this a lot.
I WILL MAKE THIS AS SIMPLE AS POSSIBLE.There are a total of 10 Lines on the Scope.
You read them from Left to Right.
Left Side (1,2,3,4,5)
Right Side (6,7,8,9,10) Now, how to use it;
If a Target is Running
Left, you take the Center Dot and aim
In-front of the Target, the picture is an Example.
There is TIME between the Shot being Fired and when the Bullet will actually hit or it won't.
It depends on the Distance aswell; It won't work as good from Close Distance but at Greater distances the shot will be more noticable - (Credits go to Crimson Flam3s)
ALWAYS aim INFRONT of the Target when it is moving.
It will sometimes be the 4th/5th Line or the 6th/7th Line when the Target is on foot

[b]Estimate Measurements:Target on Foot - 4th or 3rd line.
Target in Car - 1st, 2nd or 3rd line depending on the speed.
Target in Helicopter - 1st or 2nd line.
Targets On FootBe sure to note which direction the target is moving, if the target is moving in a straight line, you don't have to time your shots.
If the Target is moving diagonally, you have to aim between the last line and the middle dot.
CarWhen the target is in a speeding car, make sure you have your middle dot aligned to the Driver's Window of the car.
Make sure you measure the speed, if the car is going extremely fast, you will have a probability of 3/10 chances of killing the driver.
The easiest way to kill a target in a Car is when their on a slow pace, so when they stop.
HelicopterThis one is the hardest (Unless if the Pilot is in a Buzzard, then it's a good chance that you'll get him/her)
The only way to take out a pilot in an annihilator is when the pilot stops in air, that is when you the opportunity to shoot the pilot's window. Eventually, if you see a splatter of blood or the helicopter starts spazzing/fleeing; you hit your target.
"GLITCHES"By rapidly pressing down your Crouch button with shooting your sniper, you will shoot a handful of shots, this helps a lot in some areas such as the targets fleeing their way into cover. In BoGT, this is very useful against pilots and vehicles.
(Thanks to SARDYNA108 for the Reminder)
The Ballad of Gay TonySniper Rifles in BoGT have explosive shells in them, therefore, they make the best anti-vehicle weapon alongside with the Explosive Shotgun.
Since the Sniper in BoGT has the farthest scope range, they make the best long-range snipers in the game.
Using the BoGT Snipers is a pain in the ass if you're used to the Snipers in IV/TLAD.
This Sniper's Mill-dot is extremely hard to use, but you'll get used to it.
Since the Center Reticle of the Scope is a little away from both Radius's, you will have to move your scope a lot.
And that is all, if I missed any bit of information, let me know.
If you want any help or assistance through Game, feel free to ask Me or Crimson Flam3s.
Happy Hunting
