What is it?

Ok here me out, I haven't seen anything like this on this Forum yet so I think it's time to introduce it to you lovely folk. It's actually quite popular on some other forums, there are even some forums devoted to it. Some of you may be sceptic of this but whoa there! Let me explain this amazing activity. Basically it's a text rap battle between members of the Forum. There are Four rounds per match and two chances for each competitor to win. After the match is over other posters vote for who they thought won, the first to get Five votes wins. And that's the game! I will post links to the page of the battles on the front page on the second post. Still confused? Heres an example from a rap battle forum.



The Rules

. Each Competitor must post "*Check" before starting. Once this is done, the chosen competitor may start.
. While the Battle is happening nobody else may post until it's over.
. Stealing rhymes from existing raps is prohibited and will result in DQ.
. Battles must finish within 24 Hours or else it is a Draw.
. No pictures or video's are allowed.
. When you post your Rhyme it must be posted inside [QUOTE].
. Your rap can be no longer than 16 lines long.
. You may not pick your Opponent, I'll do that.
. I will PM the two Competitors that they may check up and start when ready.
. Each Competitor must agree on a date when they will be able to post.
. You must complete an Application i you want to partake in a battle.
. A Rapper Logo isn't required but would be helpful for when I post Promotional Posters.
. Voters must explain why they voted for their desired rapper.
. When voting you must vote like this Vote: (desired Rapper)

Your setting up a Netcee tournament? Wow, good luck mate! If i was young again i'd take part. I haven't seen a consistantly active Netcee forum in years (I used to regularly get involved and visit a couple back in the day). 15 bar (line) verses is a bit out of the ordinary, should really be 4, 8 or 16 bars.

Yeah I was supposed to put 16 but I put 15. Thanks for pointing that out. Why don't you fill out an App and join in? It would be good to have a veteran in our midst.

I would mate but i'm not keen on text battling anymore, I'm all about making tracks now days, Netcee battles is a decent way to improve for beginners though. As long as the people they are mixing with know the ropes etc, I'll happily judge some battles and vote etc, if this takes off.

Also, i think people should have to structure their verses, making a new line every time a bar is finished, a wall of text is never good, especially when trying to read rhythmically and trying to pick up possible subliminals etc. If people can make time to create verses they can make time pressing enter at the end of every line.

We'll see how things turn out when we get enough people. Like I said It would be great if you could take part. I've also updated the "Roster" of rappers and put the logo above their username.

That would be good mate. And it seems Lean has been banned! Typical, well unless he can get a hold of another account soon I may have to remove him. And Glenn if you sign up the first battle will you you and greatshark. But that's if you sign up of course.
