I wanted to put mods on my copy of GTA:SA...Of coarse, the easiest way to do this is to download a mod program. Before my harddrive got corrupted, I had SAMI (San Andreas Mod Installer) on my computer. It worked perfectly. Now though, when I went back to re-install SAMI, it keeps messing up.

I downloaded SAMI (there is no "latest version". Only one is out to my knowledge). It saves as a ZIP file, so I opened and extracted it. The folder I now had contained a "readme" and then the SAMI setup application. Well, I ran the SAMI setup application, and it was working fine until it got to a "registering fonts" part. At this point, the SAMI installer crashes, and I have to reboot my computer. I've tried to install SAMI about 8 times now with no progress. Does anyone know how to work SAMI, or might be able to tell me what I'm doing wrong? Thanks...

Make a Virus Scan in your HD/s... those installer exes always get infected the first time they touch your pc if it had already a virus (Especially WinParite.B).
bye

Also check your .net Framework. Most of the time, it's not present and it's usually not new enough for SAMI to work. It's nothing to worry about, however, the framework is a free download and install from Microsoft and doesnt require a reboot. If I had a link, I'd post it, but I dont have the bookmark on this computer...

Also you could uninstall GTASA and delete the SA folder in Program Files and clean up the PCs registry. Then, install GTASA and after that SAMI.

Also, I dont know if SAMI works on GTA SA 1.01 or GTASA Second Edition. So check that out. Check your version of the game.
