Rockstar like to tease their fans - and with a game like V in the possible near future this is now as bad is it gets. I don't blame people on the internet at the moment for sounding a bit frazzled or over-excited. This isn't over yet.
It is killing us, but Rockstar are human beings too and they of all people want everybody to get to the finish line.
That gives me an idea - how about a t-shirt with the slogan:

'I SURVIVED THE GTA V MARKETING CAMPAIGN'

Given out by rockstar to all its fans at the release night for free. That would be something

All the time I've spent monitoring the Forums and GTAV.net has prevented me from getting a summer job. It really hurts some people when you announce a highly anticipated game belonging to a highly anticipated franchise and then say nothing about it for months at a time. I'm not one of the children like Zee who are mad at R*/T2 personally, I just find it disappointing that they chose to make the announcement and release the trailer during a time period when they knew that they wouldn't have any concrete information.

Of course we've lost our minds.. none of this is real.
I sorta did this before when SA released when I was in college, not so much with IV.. but I got back into cause it's just fun. For me, it doesn't mess with my schedule. I can do this and work at the same time. So I've been around much longer than my join date suggests and I know what to expect: very little.

The only real wait is for the game to come out. The rest is just sideshow. We won't get any substantial info until right before release when select publications get to play it and even then we'll only know what Rockstar allows us to know. Before that, we'll probably get a sort of tour guide to the city and surrounding areas on the site, a couple of screenshots and two more trailers that'll only drop vague hints at the storyline and may be deliberately misleading like the IV trailers.

The reason to come here is I don't want to have to scan the whole internet for news on V and most of it originates from here anyway. On top of that, amid the sea of annoying little nitwits there are actually some very smart and knowledgable people on here so you'll get the occasional good idea, interesting discussion and if you're not up for that you can always partake in the latest flamefest. This forum is a bit like GTA, come to think of it. There's lots of pedestrians that spout random bullsh*t lines. The occasional stranger you meet and have an interesting talk with. The regulars that actually contribute and move the forum along. There are main missions, side activities, random mayhem, cops.. the works.

Just check that sub-forum called 'Official News.' The official info thread is still there.

One of the things that bugs me is nobody I know is a GTA fiend like I am. My best friends are mostly gamers, but we all have different tastes and interests. And my daughter is 3, I don't think she know quite how much her dad has geeked out over this game.

I think I need these forums just to say 'OMG did you see that!?!" and mindlessly speculate with fellow fans.

I find on occasion im a bit snappy with people and it has been increasing steadily over the past 4 or 5 months.
My anger levels have increased somewhat, I am finding things in general get me irritated and I blame it on this wait. I have been disappointed with the lack of info and it gets me angry. My excitement level is right down at an almighty low point.
TBH when I saw the new screenies I was meh, whatever. I didn't even get hard over them.
While I am in this anger phase and with a low excitement level, I am just going to wait in my misery and when the game releases I will be like 'whatever' just being honest and realistic is all

I noticed that it was rediculous back in april. Not just little kids, but grown men anticipating a game this much---I mean, I've done it since the first GTA but this time was not as enjoyable as the previous. Why do we do it? I think that because the real world sucks so hard and we cannot control anything anymore, that we long to escape it and enter our own little world where we do have control. It's almost like a drug. And it will be a long time before we get to do it all over again after V. It appears that R* is only going to release two GTA's per generation. Will the new Red Dead feed that lust? Who knows.
