Obviously not easy in terms of difficulty level, I meant in terms of convenience. So on that basis gamers do have it too easy. Having to refuel would mean that players would have to go out of their way(maybe even plan ahead), but it wouldn't mean they'd have to do so every 5 minutes.
And for the laid back gamer who doesn't want to perform such a mundane task, then a cheat would easily suffice. |
Okay. It could be added with a cheat, but if there weren't a cheat then Because I'd probably be out in the country no gas station in sight after hours of driving and standing on top of my broken down car. |
Just like real life. You make damn sure that you'd refuel next time! | But I don't play games that are like real life. I tried the sims 3 and it was just plain boring. That's why I come to GTA. Because GTA manages to make things that look and act like real life, but when push comes to shove it lets you drive forever and pull rocket launchers out of your pocket to blow up police cars. And the people react the way you'd expect them to if this was a real life attack. Some run, some call the police and then run. I don't want to constantly have to use a refueling cheat and stare at a gas gauge. GTA is about escaping the worries of real life, not emulating them.

It seems like pointless busywork. The only people who would like something like this are role players. Which is why if it is put in it should be put in as an option only. Not a mandatory feature. I like driving cars around for hours on end without having to fill them up. I admit it hasn't been a problem in mafia II yet, but I did try filling up a car once and it was just plain boring. I just sat there while a cutscene played. Ooh, how exciting. I just don't get role players, but that won't be a problem if something like this is just optional. Because, f*ck it, I'm lazy, and in a god damn video game that I bought, I should be allowed to be lazy. |
I can see your point totally. If it was the same simple cutscene then it'd get old pretty fast. However, if it was similar to the molotov cocktail refilling in chinatown wars, then it'd be a welcome addition. Basically an action that you control yourself. | Oh yes, because in a game where you can escape federal police and kill SWAT teams by the hundreds, possibly in the same chase, what's really going to impress people is a car refueling mini game. Maybe we should also introduce a knitting and tax accountancy mini game!

Now you're just being facetious. If everyone thought like that then we wouldn't have all the minor attention to detail that solidify the whole rockstar package.

If everyone thought like that then we wouldn't have all the minor attention to detail that solidify the whole rockstar package. | Look, attention to detail is one thing, one of the things I liked about GTA IV was that they did try to make the peds seem like they have lives, which made it more satisfying to kill them. The talk radio, the news, the people, it all made me feel like I was there. The thing is, they can still do that without putting in busywork like this. I did say it should be optional, so other people could still play with it on, but for me, refueling seems like on of those real life annoyances that I'd just rather not deal with. Realistic or not.

Oh but I did, sadly I didn't want to bump an ancient topic with immature replies(such as yours) Especially since they're not talking about the "exact" same thing. | You don't make any new arguments either. These arguments have been stated, and counter-arguments have been made. If you have a rebuttal to these, post reply to them in one of the older topics. If you have some completely new approach, you can make a new thread. If you make a thread that serves no other purpose than stating again something that has been argued about without any new contribution, your thread is just going to get locked. Observe.
