I have been thinking about creating a new mod, I have never done it before so I will need a lot of help. I think it's about time that we make a new world map. We combine all the rockstar maps together to make the ultimate GTA game. This video I found on youtube has a good concept http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zVUa_QKzDjw but the new liberty city would be too difficult. I think we should combine the maps of Liberty city (GTA III version), Vice city (Original Vice city Version), The Original San Andreas map (I say original incase people don't take this seriously till after GTA V is out), The Bullworth map (from Bully) and to top i all off the Carcer city map.

This is an ambitious project for someone who has no experience with this but I believe we could do it. The concept is that to travel from island to island there are bridges, boats and planes. I assume it would be easier to mod GTA san andreas to do this, or we could expand on the state of liberty mod that combines liberty city, vice city and san andreas. The hardest mp would be carcer city so i would make the mod without carcer city 1st, then do an update with it.

Please reply and tell me what you think!

good job. but the only "real" map for me is the one in GTA 1

user posted image

now, my theory is: every city is an island (in a lake, like saints row, or in the ocean), and they are NEAR they real countreparts. However, the surrounding land is not visible.

Now, every generation has THE SAME cities, BUT with a different desing... bullworth, carcer city, STILL exists in the IV-era (and that's why there are references to othe cities), BUT maybe they are NOT the version that we currently know. This is also for SA and VC (same position, different desing)

the real cities (NY, miami, los angeles) still exists... a billboard of GTA III says Miami, and a radio DJ in San andreas clearly says "new York"

PS: according to wiki, bullworth appear as a New england/new hampshire town, while Carcer city is 50/100 miles away from Liberty (in the GTA IV-rendition)

I think the best thing is to start by creating a world map of what i will make, I will search around to find the locations of the cities according to the GTA III era, I do believe Carcer city is between liberty city and bullworth, for carcer city i know the map will me very bare which is why I will probly make a version without it 1st, I think another big challenge will be putting bullworth in as the coding for bully is very complex compared to GTA

Didn't DrScot and some other map makers create a world GTA map back in 2011? I'm sure I remember it. There was a whole mapmaking topic dedicated to it. Don't know if they ever finished it though.

This is what I'm talking about.

Doing it as an actual mod for the game would be almost impossible. Good luck with it but those kind of map mods haven't worked well in the past. Combining 3 different era's of maps and level design together is not an easy task.

I would say it is somehow like this in GTA III Universe

WEST COAST of US:

State of San Andreas (Los Santos, San Fierro, Las Venturas, Red County, Flint County, Whetstone, Bone County, Tierra Robada)

[based on California and Nevada]

CENTRAL US:

Bullworth [New England]

EAST COAST of US:

State of Liberty (Liberty City and Carcer City

[based loosely on state of New York, New York City and I believe Detroit)

State of Florida (Vice City, Cottonmouth)
[based loosely on Florida, Miami...]

Games in chronological order:
GTA Vice City Stories (1984)
GTA Vice City (1986)
GTA San Andreas (1992)
GTA Liberty City Stories (1998)
GTA Advance (2000) discutable, maybe Top-down view Era
GTA III (2001)
Manhunt (2003)
Bully (2006)
Manhunt 2 (2012)

And all of the protagonists:

Victor Vance (dead, comes from Dominican Republic)
Tommy Vercetti (comes from Liberty City)
Carl Johnson (comes from Los Santos)
Antonio Cipriani (comes from Liberty City)
?Mike? (comes from Liberty City?)
Claude (comes from San Fierro)
James Earl Cash (comes from Las Venturas)
Jimmy Hopkins (underage, not sure where he comes from)
Daniel Lamb (comes from San Fierro)

So I hope my III Era knowledge will help you guys. wink.gif

Why would Bullworth be in the Central US if it is a New England town?

I know there is a better place for this but is there anywhere I can find someone on here that has made a Map for the Rockstar World? Just like someone connected all the City plus Carcer/Bullworth and the City from Manhunt 2

Thank You.

I'm not living under a rock because that's not the same thing, it is the same concept with less maps, and yes i am aware of it as well as GTA state of liberty

Well, this would seem highly unlikely to achieve as I doubt that any engine could handle all of those maps put together, however perhaps it could be possible with loadscreens?
Even then I think it'd be too stressful, maybe if you used an external engine that is not related to Rockstar such as Unreal Engine 3 or Unity rather than RAGE, SA or VC's engine.
Also there's a lot of work to do to get a single map working in a game, so the team would have to be extremely dedicated.
And just for anyone here's my mod im working on that converts Carcer City to SA saying as you mentioned Carcer in your post.
