Well, at last it's been made official, GTA III is coming to PSN (after I buy it and other old GTA's for my PS2, go figure).

Its release date is next Tuesday, 31st July, is in North America, with other release dates not announced.

Apparently it isn't in HD, just a straight-up port.

It will be $10.

Without a doubt it will be, I mean I don't see a reason not to be the Xbox version. The iOS/Android versions were Xbox versions.

First-I'm pretty sure that more people own a PS3 and a PS2.
Second-trophies would be good,but graphics not.Why f*ck up the original feel of the game?If you want a HD gta 3,just use mods.Or play the XBOX version.

Isn't that simple port as part of PS2 Classics? It will have the same graphics and the same gameplay. There won't be any changes, fixes, trophies or nothing like that.

I have no problem with it being a straight port, I love the gritty graphics of GTA III. Perhaps not fully intentional, but all these years later they really add to the atmosphere of the game by being worse than today's standards.

I won't be buying this unfortunately, as I just finished playing it on my PS2.

Yeah this is probably gonna happen. If you remember GTA III and Vice City were both rated for the PS3 by the ESRB, so the absence of Vice City in this announcement would suggest that it'll come to PSN as a 10 year anniversary tie-in.

Not quite. The graphics were not 100% Xbox, not even the models and textures from what I remember.

It won't ruin the feel of the game. The Xbox version isn't HD actually and it looks very much the same as the PC\PS2 versions but improved.

That's your opinion.I think the best way to play a game is to play it the way it was made to be.

The models and vehicles were rigged from XBox version.

But the city model and textures are still from the sh*tty PC/PS2 version.

I don't see why the PC version of San Andreas has better graphics.That depends on the resolution,mods,FX quality etc.

If you wanna know why I would dislike(not hate) a HD remake is because i'm pretty sure R* would make a modern GTA 3.
The Xbox version(even through has better graphics) still has the GTA 3 feel I like.But if you were to put in the game:HD:weapons,cars,skins,peds etc. the game would feel different in my view.But everyone has it's taste.

Meh, I'll be waiting for Vice City which I guess will be released around it's anniversary this fall. A bit disappointet that they didn't even make it HD. Let's hope they're just focusing on GTA V then
