ive tried for a while to get into gta 4 but i really dont like niko i find him irritating

how can i get into the game i at least want to complete it before V.

i was really dissapointed with GTA 4 after loving san andreas so much.

i feel dissapointed.

How far in are you? If its early, stick it out, he grows on you. I mean, at least he's not CJ.

Finally some1 who understands!! That game as soon as I put it into my Xbox I didn't feel right about it. It grows on u...but that doesn't validate it being "good". Watch out man...I just had one of my topics torn down from the list because apparently being truthful and honest isnt allowed in these parts of hell haha. My thread was about how R* should have never changed the map to look identical to New York City. U know with the Liberty Statue and having weird names for the cities and what not. There was nothing memorable to me in Gta IV. And so they blocked my topic because I wouldn't bend on my views of the game.

I find you irritating. Niko's theme is different and CJ's is different. People don't get racist in games, do they? If you can't complete the game then you can't complete any Modern game because this game is the illustration of modern technology. As for you, if you hate him, install any CJ's skin in GTA 4. We can't help you with your irritation questions.

.... Gotta admit, Tommy is pretty goddamn boss. But Niko is a pretty cool character once you get used to his nuances. Sure, he isn't cold and emotionless, little illusion to sentient thought like past protags, but that's because of the new style of the game.

I was like this too...when I first got GTA 4. At first I didn't like Niko, I didn't like the storyline...but after awhile and reading on here about the storyline and such I begain to love Niko and the storyline. I've done been through the storyline a million times now. And I still love it!

I guess a character like Niko wont appeal to everyone, but personally I think he's a great protagonist. So human like with real flaws.

He actually feels human instead of like some roided up, musclehead, 1 dimensional, hardass pyscho.

JurzeeDee: The only real reason I can think why your thread was locked was because it wasn't getting anywhere. In all the time I've been here people don't get their threads locked for giving their opinion.

Keep improving his clothes as you unlock stores. I really didn't like his default outfit at first.

Compared to CJ, Niko is pretty boring so I know how you feel. You've already bought the game so just keep at it. Try and get immersed in the story and missions rather than the protagonist. Niko does get a little less irritating as the game progresses.

I get what you mean, OP. I wasn't sure if I'd like Niko either but once I gave him a chance he's now turned into one of, if not my number one favorite protagonist. His personality gets better as the story goes on so I'd suggest atleast getting through a quarter of the game before you decide if you like him or not.

Niko is great protagonist and one of the best R* made thru all this years.
Man who is mentally destroyed by brutal and terrible war, which gouged him from his childhood. Man who became cynical hypocrite, because of all tragic things that happened to him and his family. What's not to like there?

Don't make me start about CJ, because "moaning and whining Mr. everybody's bitch's bitch pushed thru entire state" was not very good material for likeable protagonist.

I personnaly think GTA San Andreas is the most overrated game I ever played.

But IV is a great game after you get past first 2 hrs of gameplay... the story alone and the missions along the way with some funny dialoge and the city alone bring you laughs along the way (at least it did to me)

i LOVE San Andreas... i played that for ENDLESS hours as with Vice City... but sadly... Vice City's map left me wanting MORE from it, and indeed San Andreas delivered, along with so much more to do! Even GTA 3 had a bigger map size than Vice City... but nothing Beats Tommy Vercetti's Story and the Scarface feel!!!!!

Im pretty particular about my games but I think Gay Tony is the most enjoyable expansion u will play in the IV era. It really is not as "faggy" as people might think. Alot more ghetto than anything. Luis wasnt the best character ever. Fit the Bill. But the supporting characters make that one what it is. A lot of "over-indulgence" surrounds that whole atmosphere.

And @ MiamiVice - One would like to believe my thread got closed because of standards and practices. From what u have shared unfortunately it seems u barely see threads getting closed. Which leads me to believe I hit someones soft spot. My hater probably closed it because he saw I wouldn't hesitate to answer anyone. Thus falling into the trap of a troll. I like to debate...and I will try a little harder not to blow someone away that is redundant. Instead just ignore them. U have personally written to me Miami I am not so bad I need to have my thread closed. Theres bigger fish to fry if U catch my drift. I simply have a stalwart defense for my game (GTA III)
