score 1 for american justice (!)

seriously what the f*ck? this is just unbelievably f*cking stupid, I am having a hard time believing it.
I'm sorry to say this americans and I mean absolutely no offence but this is why the world laughs at you - or worse.
edit: one of the many reasons

Sadly, that doesn't just happen in America! A radio host here in Australia was put under house arrest for doing the same thing.

I'd hit that if it was past out at a party.

Who the f*ck passes out at a party anyway, what the hell was she doing?

Besides everybody who was AT the party already know WHO did it. So I don't see why the names matter so much.

She was probably drunk out of her mind and passed out, and that still doesn't make it okay for somebody to f*cking rape her.

I'm on her side, but why would she accept a plea deal and then turn around and break the deal? She should've put them in jail in the first place. So I'm on her side about justice and getting them in jail for rape and all that, but she's retarded for accepting a plea deal then turning around and breaking it. It's her own fault if she goes to jail.

It's disgusting that a plea agreement [...]

Plea bargains are to reduce court costs, and to get a conviction when there might not be enough evidence to 'prove beyond a reasonable doubt'.
Some DA's are just plain lazy. why should they work for weeks, when they can get a signature in a minute?
Cheap Justice.
Your dealing with juveniles here too. they'll be free when they reach majority.
Look on the bright side, the kids are getting [Justice].

Further, the victims are NOT consulted, it's pure DA vs Accused.

My opinion.
Hope they lock the bitch up.
From what I understand the two boys are underage, in which case it is illegal to release the names of any legal dealings of underage peoples.
At least that's the way it is in Georgia where I'm originally from.
She could have talked about it all she wanted, but she could have used fake names to keep herself out of trouble and trying to make herself a pity case.

They are nearly 18, and rape is a serious enough crime for them to be tried as adults, meaning they'd go to prison for the full sentence. Furthermore, the evidence in this case was overwhelming. There were absolutely no grounds for plea bargain in this case.

So, you see no problem with two boys committing rape, and getting off with a fine and a slap on the wrist, while the girl they raped gets jail time for releasing their names?

Legality aside, there's right and there's wrong. Rape is wrong.

I think it is time to re-define the age break. If she was 17, I'm guessing the boys were too. 17 is mighty close to 18 and being tried as an adult.

Not to sound all old manish, but it seems like more and more violent crimes are being committed by younger people these days. Heck, just last week a 12 year old girl was raped by 2 14 year old boys in a rec center stairway not too far from my house.

Come to think of it - there seems to be a trend in violent sex crimes committed by minors these days.

At least in this city it is pretty easy to have a minor tried as an adult if it is a serious enough violent crime...and most sex crimes are classed as 'violent'.

I think the '18 = adult' in the justice system needs to be changed. A scale according to infractions should be used, and not just a flat break at 18.

I'm on the chick's side in all of this. They permanently f*cked up her life while they only get a slight inconvenience in theirs. They are the guilty ones - they should have to pay far more in the long run than the chick.

She should go to jail. Hate me if you want but this is how I stand.

Her so called Justice is really just her own Vengeance.
Vengeance solves nothing. They are trying to teach them a lesson, not f*ck up the rest of their lives like George Zimmerman.

Oh yes.
Rape is fine.
We should legalize it.
Great job reading between the lines. icon14.gif

The point is, two wrongs DO NOT make a right.
Releasing the names of ANY underaged persons regardless if they are guilty or not is wrong.

The way you put it, you're entirely fine with it.

But why jail her? Is three wrongs better than two?

Releasing the names of two rapists less than a year from being old enough to join the army and go blow people up in Iraq is in no way morally wrong.

Rape, on the other hand, is pretty far up there as far as morally wrong crimes.

Reminds me of this - http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-12...ocent-boys.html

When two 11 year olds tortured a little kid before killing him.
- Beat up the boys with sticks and bricks
- Forced them to sexually abuse each other Urinated on them while drinking beer
-Burnt the eyelids and ears of the nine-year-old
-Stamped on his face and genitals
- Made him eat stinging needles
- Wound a noose around the neck of the 11-year-old"

Horrendous stuff, regardless of what the victim does afterwards the criminal still needs to be punished, and maybe a warning or a fine for the victim for breaking court rules.

What the f*ck are you comparing this sh*t too?

I can't even remember reading that she was raped at all, the article says sexual assault which could be anything. Heck you could just put your nuts in her face take a picture and it'd be called sexual assault.

Now I haven't read anything else about it except that article and my guess is neither have you.

Are you talking to me? If so i was only referring to the evil children who tortured other people because trip mentioned kids doing horrific things.

Go right ahead. You tell a young girl that 'sexual assault' ins't 'rape'.

Let's say you were walking down a dark allay and some homeless dude tackled you and rubbed his dirty penis all over your face - stuck it in your mouth - slid it up and down your ass crack - shot his load all over your face. Sure he never penetrated your anus, but would you be OK with it since it was just an assault?

I have no story to share.

It was purely hypothetical just to point out the fine line between sexual assault and rape. Just because there was no penetration does not mean the events are less traumatic to the victim.

*I'm not sure what you have problems with believing, since I pretty much spelled out the hypothetical story with you being the victum.
