Hello everybody,

So I just got my new notebook(specs are below), and I wanted to test it by using GTA San andreas. Of course, when you start GTA SA, it is in poor quality, so I went to "Options">"Display">"Advanced", but then the whole game crashes...

I used a clean install of GTA San andreas using my CD, and I have 2 graphics cards. It doesn't matter which card I choose, it always crashes.

Specs:
Notebook-name: Sony Vaio S13P
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 (x64)
CPU: Intel Core I7-3520M (3th gen, 2.9GHZ turbo upto 3.6GHz)
RAM: 12GB DDR2-1333MHz
Graphics cards: Intel HD Graphics 4000 and Nvidia Geforce GT 640M LE-2GB (drivers are up to date)
Screen: 1600 x 900 px

I hope someone knows a solution for this problem confused.gif

This is the wrong section for this issue, but what can one do.

Have you tried using compatibility modes? Just a few weeks later I tried running SA on my win7 machine and it crashed, for whichever reason. The same installation works on XP no questions asked.

Try the compatibility modes if it still doesn't work, try deleting the gta_sa.set file in your GTA San Andreas User Files. Since you changed the graphic resolution it will be saved there. It will be created again in there with the original settings(default). If this still doesn't work re-install the game. But remember deleting the .set file helps in a lot of problems.

I have another installation of GTA SA running on my previous computer(also win7), and there it runs without any problems.
Weird, isn't it...

Thanks everyone wink.gif
