I just installed Windows 8 90 Days Evaluation and installed my NVIDIA drivers, installed Steam then installed GTA4 Episodes from Liberty City, when i click play it opens Social Club, i log in then hit play and nothing happens! I have GTX670 4GB, 16 GB DDR3 RAM, i7 CPU and so on... My computer runs the game in Windows 7 well. What the problem with Windows 8?

Windows 8 has several major kernel changes and won't be compatible with a lot of things until more updates are released and Microsoft addresses the issues, that's why I'm not upgrading, I'd suggest either dual-booting or going back to 7.

Ive tried it awile ago. Even if it will run the game will close randomly sometimes. And multiplayer will not work at all in windows 8.

have u enabled the net framework 3.5.1 files to the C: drive? cuz W8 only has the version 4 ones.

this one has both tuts for offline and online enabling

the reason i know this is because i got W8 too and i had to do this.

ccrogers15: LOL, W8 doesn't close IV radomly here, and MP works flawless. so problem is at u only

EDIT: games runs a little smoother on W8 than W7 because of the changes. also, W8 starts up very fast compared to W7.

that may be the fix then. i was having the same problem with my gt640. gave up and went back to xp and w7 64.

Thanks, i downloaded and installed GFWL and it worked.
