Hello everyone, right now I'm gonna show you some tips, tricks to make a great, epic army, war theme mission pack (or story-line).
1: Story
-Create some exciting goal like destroy rockets, attack enemies bases, eliminate targets,... -War theme mission mean you're in the army, and the army don't do sh*t like revenge, driving,...They only do mission ordered by high rank people like general, captain, or even president.
2: Equipments
-2 weapons: Mostly in war theme missions, you use an M4 and armor. To increase the variety of the mission, give the player 2 weapons (Don't ever give them a bazooka, some of them may...start mission...get the bazooka...thinking of cheating...typing ''FULLCLIP''...carry the bazooka...*evil laugh*...BOOM BOOM BOOM...mission completed after 20 seconds...). The main weapon is mostly m4, ak47, or mp5, the 2nd weapon can be a pistol or shotgun. -Night vision: Don't think that you don't need a night vision. You can always see clearly at night in SA, so one simple thing to make the player use the night vision is to change the weather to black and white. In some location, the night vision is very useful for stealth missions. -You can even add a hidden weapon that the lucky player can find and complete the mission easily. It can be a minigun, ......bazooka, grenade. -And remember to add armor pickup ,don't place it in the middle of the battlefield, place it in a corner or in a cover.
3: Actors
A: Ally
-Skin: Mostly army skin, nothing else to say... -Weapon: Mostly m4, mp5, you can also give them a smoke grenade, make the battlefield more realistic. -Action: Mostly hold position, follow player, I always set the ally accuracy to be 10. The ally always have 2500 health (maybe 500 or 1000).
B: Enemies
-Skin: I recommended that the enemies skin should be SWAT, FBI, CIA, cop. Because they look like they're able to hold a gun and shoot. -Weapons: Whatever you like , mostly ak47, m4, machine gun, pistol. Don't ever ever give the enemy a minigun (only do that if you want to make a trap). To make the mission hard, let them carry a sawn-off shotgun or normal shotgun. And to make the mission extremely hard, let them carry a combat shotgun!!! -Action: Mostly hold position or patrolling in stealth missions. -Boss: If your mission pack have a boss, these are his equipment: shotgun, bazooka. Set his health to be 1000 or 2500. The best boss fighting mission to me is Ghost Ship final mission by leoncj. -Always turn headshot on if the enemy's on high place, because when you shoot in their head, they move back I you can get a clear shot of them anymore, so to kill them...''ROCKETMAN''...fly up...shoot...
4: Objects
-Always make cover by adding object in the location of the shooting. -There are three kind of cover: 1/ ''Shootable'' cover. It should be place carefully that the player can stand and shoot the enemies and can crouch and shoot the enemies. The player can take small amount of damn even when crouching. 2/ ''Destroyable'' cover. It's like the one above but destroyable like wooden crates, wooden stuff,... 3/ ''Safe'' cover. This is a cover that the player can hide in when they losing much health, It can be higher than the player so they can stand there and wait for their health to be restore ( mostly to type ''HESOYAM'' =]] ). Or it can be a bit lower so the player can crouch in there. -You should add explosion at some point of the mission, and maybe fire.
5: Objective
-In war theme mission pack, the main objective is mostly ''kill all enemies'' with a red arrow above their heads. I don't like that kind of objectives, it look not so realistic to me. Just add a checkpoint at the destination, invisible if possible. -I only use ''kill all enemies'' in sniper missions. -In sniper missions, don't just the player stand at one place at shoot, move from place to place to snipe.
6: Vehicle
-Cover: Sometimes it's a good to use cars as cover (must be locked of course). -Tank: The actors can use tank to shoot, so to make it look like the tank is shooting, add an actor on top of the tank carrying a bazooka, so the tank can drive and shoot at the same time. -Chopper: mostly used as target, you can make an objective which is to destroy a chopper, so set it health to be 1000-2500.
For lazy guys only: 1/ Too lazy to read the tip above? Then read this. 2/ Too lazy to add armor? Just set the player health to be 200. (or you're still too lazy to do that...) 3/ Too lazy to create actor by actor (setting skin, weapon and stuff)? Just create one and press Ctrl+P to duplicate actors. Pressing too much will decrease the variety. 4/ Too lazy to add objects?...then don't add anything.
You can also use some of this tips tricks for other theme mission pack. If you guys got some tricks, tips that you want to share, post it here. Well, I think that's it. Thanks for reading this and hope it would help. And check out my war theme mission pack: Call of Duty: Black Ops!

But, doesn't it look like we're going to kill our own allies? So, I say we gotta put some citizen skin too.
