What was the brainstorm meeting like for making .01b?

"Hmmm, lets make it so the list of servers is completely wrong!"

"No, lets make it crash three, no FIVE times more than a, and at the most inconvenient times!"

"Yeah, and then after a few days, lets make it just not work at all! This game is gonna rule..."


Honestly, how do you make a game even sh*tTIER when you upgrade it?

I'd really love to see you try and make something better, is the buggy server list all you can think of that isnt perfect? Its buggy, thats why it's called a beta. So of youre you'll expect some bugs. Oh, and it wasnt our fault that made the server list not work properly, it was RakNet's master that was causing the problems. Just be thankful that this was released, because it wasnt meant to be released at all.

i havent noticed any more crashes in 0.1b than i did in 0.1a, but then again i didnt play 0.1b that much.
the other issue you bring up is irrelevent.. they had no server browser in 0.1a, so how could having a crappy one in 0.1b make it a worse game? besides, i think it will get sorted out soon.

Baliente... you sir are an inconsiderate and unappreciative arsehole, perhaps you should go play MTA instead.

You obviously signed up to the GTAforums just to make those two posts, bitching about a beta... that was just released, that is having problems using third party software.

These guys have got a big task and need all the encouragement they can get, not fools nit-picking every little thing out. After all, they have put countless hours into this work and are providing it to you free of charge.

I crash once every oh, 2 hours in VC-MP 0.1b, crashed a little more in 0.1a.

As for the server list? Eh, not a big issue, you know where you can find people by sticking around. Sure, having one would be nice, but it's not a requirement for a beta that was never made to be placed on public servers in the first place.

The <only> thing bothering me about 0.1b is the shotgun knockdown, that's about all. Even then, it's not a huge issue.

Yes, the server list is not working properly. Believe me, after having restarted the master server 10 times and write debugging code to figure out was wrong, I sure do know about it.

As for any other problems you can submit a bug report. 0.1b should not crash more than 0.1a. If it does, I'd like to know about it.

It's not possible to determine how many people are playing VC-MP. The reported number of players was inaccurate even when the server list was somewhat working.

I've tried to stress time and time again that VC-MP was not meant to run large public dedicated servers. It was more for LAN games and having fun with friends over the internet.

We have tried with 0.1b to accommodate some of the features required for public servers but have not yet succeeded in doing so.

Posting negative comments does not help either.

the comment was not meant to be negative at all.. i was just dismissing someones arguement that MTA is dead. i am sick of people who senselessly bash MTA at any opportunity they get.
the reason i think there are relatively few people playing vc-mp is because there was only one server with a good amount of people in it when the list was working, and only one in 0.1a out of all the servers listed in IRC. in MTA ASE i see 4 or 5 servers with a decent amount of players at any given time. however, there could be some private servers that only certain gaming communities know about, but i doubt there are a lot of people on those..
there honestly was no negativity intended toward VC-MP, i was just stating my observation to debunk someones arguement.

Kyeman, your mod pwns, you and the team are doing a great job! I'm not MTA bashing, but for me the gameplay here is better, being able to shoot people from cars, or have a bike fight pwns! sh*t, ya know, I guess he's right. The next version of VC:MP we release will have to be version 0.05z, we'll go backwards instead so it might actually get better.

I'm terribly sorry that you're not entirely satisfied with our result, clearly the 2 weeks of work we put in between 0.1a and 0.1b hasn't pleased you in the slightest despite the fact that VC:MP was never even meant to be released. Would you like us to send you a formal letter of apology with some flowers?
