So today is of course Anzac Day, it is the most important day in the Australian calender. On the 25th of April in 1915 the Anzacs landed at Gallipolli to fight a war, we now commemorate this day, but not only for those who fought on that day 97 years ago, but all servicemen in all positions who all serve/have served. I attended a local Anzac tribute this morning, i froze my tits off but it felt good and i left feeling patriotic and keen to join the defence force. It is important to respect and remember and understand what our country fought for, this doesn't apply to just Anzac Day, it applies to any commemorative event anywhere in any country. Who else here attended Anzac day? And who else here attends these commemorative events anywhere for anything? Information on Anzac day if you are interested. This is full of links leading up to events of Anzac Day, what happened on Anzac Day and why it happened. - http://www.anzacsite.gov.au/1landing/Fellow Australians: Lest We Forget. We celebrate Remembrance Day on November 11 of each year to pay tribute to our war dead and those who are currently fighting on behalf of Canada. |
No, that is different! We celebrate Remembrance day to. This is what Anzac Day is about. |
It is similar mate, its to remember those lost. Jay, that's sad stuff, some of my mates get very emotional on Anzac day.

No, that is different! We celebrate Remembrance day to. This is what Anzac Day is about. | It is vital to remember that we do not 'celebrate' ANZAC Day, but instead 'commemorate' it with services. Lest we forget. Cheers.
