this is extremely annoying!!!! when i first bought the game i ripped some traks to my computer, so they were non-DRMed files, they were also WMA files. it worked fine.

then i decided to make an actual radio station. i deleted all my previous files and replaced them with MP3's, they didn't work. i later found out that i had to get rid of the DRMs, i did that, still wouldn't work, i realised that some people said that the names were to long, made them short, still wouldn't work, ive swapped between shortcuts and real files countless times, no cigar.

I have swapped it between suffle random and radio heaps as well.

all i get is radio adds, no screechin, nothing...

there has to be an answer for this, if anyone knows plz tell!

if all else fails, my friend knows C++, he said hell try and make a program for this bug

Does anyone know a way to just completely delete the radio station from the game? I never use the user tracks option at all with any of the GTA games. There must be a way to delete it somehow I just know it, but how I do is the question.

nobody else had this issue? am i the only one???

i have the same issue going right now. for starters, there wasnt a "user music" folder in my root gtaiv folder, so i created one, and then when i scan in audio options it... does it really really slowly and wont display progress as it goes... (i have only a few songs in the user musioc folder just to test it.)

i am using a retail version, will try a few things and report back if i come up with something that works.

Screeching is an issue with your MP3's (usually broken or cracked ineffectively DRM is in them)

Do you guys have Windows Media 11 runtime installed?

Use shortcuts, don't forget to scan for songs. You will know a scan was done correctly when the user tracks data files list your tracks.

@ klyxbone, Why did you bump a year old topic.?

But you are wrong, IV WILL recognize songs above 192kbps, as the Wal-Mart MP3 Downloads and I-Tunes Downloads are both encoded in 256kbps, and they play great on the Independance FM station. Just a heads up.. smile.gif

I used to have the same problem. My songs were .m4a files. They played through iTunes and windows media player. The songs would not play on the station, so I downloaded QuickTime player and now it works perfectly! Hope this helped.
