Last night i was playing GTA III, when i thought to myself that it was slowly dying, IV had replaced and it was the homeless dude on the sidewalk.
So i encourage you to pick it up and play till your head hurts.

Don't worry, there are still people who play GTA III and mod it, including me. Althrough GTA IV is the newest, GTA III is still the classic game, the 1st 3D GTA ever. icon14.gif

Ya, but think about it will it die? Yes all great games do.

Off topic: I'm listening to Eminem while randomly posting.

Of course it won't die, even GTA2 hasn't died, many people mod it and play it. Some people like the older series, and don't play the newer. And I also doubt that many people have the PC requirements for playing GTA IV.
And Off-Topic isn't allowed! tounge.gif

That's where you got it wrong, buddy, great games never die. Especially a game like GTA III.

III is the one that built GTA, and always will be. The series was a cultish curiosity at best during the 2D era but then came III in 3D and it was the game that defined a decade.

Damn, I'm starting to sound like one of those gaming blog writers.

While I still have a working PS2, I'll always go back to GTA3 now and again, if only for the nostalgia. The game changed the way I look at videogames.

this!
I still play even GTA1 and London, I like old games biggrin.gif
and about the PC requirements, I still have some lag problems about SA... so, if you think a game is too old to be played, I'll be there... the gamesI most play on my PC are GTA3, VC, SA and Manhunt, gems that never get old

Agreed. I started a new save of GTA III, and VC the other day actually. I like revisiting them, because I like to remember the good times I had with them back in the day.

Legendary games never die.

As long as there are video games, GTAIII will never die. Because great games, that literally 'changed the game' are the ones that everyone remembers, and play forever.

For evidence of this, just look at PacMan, or Super Mario Bros. (8-bit). Those are much older that any GTA game, and people still love those. Obsolete software be damned!

The poll speaks for itself. I personally believe every other GTA will die before GTA III, I really do.

Well, the III GTAs will always be remembered for the new things they brought to the table (maybe not the stories). With III being the most important, those games made the foundation for everything in IV, if you ask me.

When I get IV in a few days, however, I'll probably completely forget about GTA3 sad.gif ...

You won't, I can assure you. I've never craved for old Liberty as much as now.

Eminem and rap/gangsta culture will probably die out before GTA III does. It's the Street Fighter II of GTAs, there will always be someone there to play and remember it. Game shops (including Kmart and Big W) still have it brand new over here and some places want up to A$40 for it on PS2, yet San Andreas goes for $19.95!
