San Andreas was released a year before 360 launch and SA remains, to me, the most successful video game ever based on the combo of sales (popularity) and critical acclaim (quality). The PS2 version is second only to Kinect Adventures (lmao) as the best-selling game on any Sony/Microsoft console from PS1, 2, 3, Xbox 1 and Xbox 360, and remains, in critical consensus, one of, and to me, the greatest console game I've ever played.

Again, too many idiots are treating games as though they cost $1000 and as if people are going to be extremely cautious about buying a game a year or something.

There are 60 million xboxes in world wide circulation, PS3 probably the same.
NOW is the best time for a new GTA, not 1, 2 years ago, not when the next gens are here, now.

Gta4 was the gta3 of current gen. They built the fundemantals but haven't had the oppurtunity to expand on it. They wouldn't have built it from ground up just for GTA 4 ... Come on. We haven't seen any of the things that ps2 was capable of that ps3 is more than ever. Like planes and countryside, etc.

I think V will definitely be out on PS3/360. It has only had IV (excluding DLC). There is still much potential! Plus, it's not like everyone will buy a PS4/720 straight away! I'll be keeping my PS3 for at least 2 years after the PS4 is out.

III was the first PS2 game and SA was the last. The difference between them is crazy. I didn't realise how small the LC map for III was compared to SA's map!

Just look at the difference:

Now imagine what V's map will be like if the differences between IV is the same as the differences between III & SA! There was only 3 years between III & SA. There will be at least 4 years between IV & V!

Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 are at their peak. If Microsoft and Sony decide to release new consoles it would be death kill for both companies. I don't know about you guys, but not all gamers out there will be able to afford a console during launch, that is going off of how much the PS3 and the 360 were and how they are now I'm thinking these new consoles would easily breach the $800 mark. Not everyone will be able to afford this, and thus will spark a very bumpy and rocky beginning for the 720 and PS4, much like the PS3's and 360. I see the PS3 and Xbox 360 have at least a good solid 2-3 more years in them, but with all the buzz around "Durango" and "Orbis" I'm starting to worry.

The PS3 could easily handle big games but only if it was exclusive to it. While games that are both PS3 and 360 see a major dropoff in performance. There haven't been as many truly classic games come out for the PS3 and 360 as there have been for the PS2 and original XBOX. That's just my opinion, since most of my favorite games are in fact on the Playstation 2 and Xbox, and only a handful are on PS3 and 360. I think it's very unrealistic that R* would jump out and take a risk on being on next-gen consoles.

I see next-gen consoles come into serious consideration after next year, and by mid/late 2013 we'll see some sort of information on them. Meanwhile GTA V is most likely nearing end of development, or even better for us fans - done and ready for marketing to begin. I can see R* prepping a new trailer or info of some sort as we speak, but mocking/laughing at us at the same time checking these forums to see all the trolling and stupidity going on in here lol. 7 and a half months of nothing and counting... But most of us will be back on the R* train as soon as they put something out there. Even if it is just the smallest piece of information they could put out there we'd be dissecting that piece of info like our lives depended on it.

Well, apparently there's a secret Microsoft conference later today, so maybe the Xbox 720 (or whatever the next gen Xbox will be called) will be announced.

Rockstar - and other companies possibly - probably have insider information on whether or not Sony or Microsoft are working on next gen consoles so I doubt it was a "mistake"

They will make more money if the release it for PS3/360! If they make it for PS4/720 then it probably won't come out until 2014/2015! Not everyone will buy a next gen console as soon as it's released. Sure, it might make more people buy it if GTA V is a release title but still they would make more money right now. This gen of consoles are in their peak. They are affordable and they have loads of games!

Plus, TT said it would be out before the end of March 2013. More info will come soon. This silence from R* is driving everyone crazy.

Im positive that people will buy the next-generation console as long as they make a Call of Duty only for the Xbox Durango or Playstation Orbis. Its astonishing how Call of Duty brainwashes people.
