Okay, so I've posted this before, but no one posted to help. I am posting a new thread because the first one is goes back quite a few months, and I don't want to bump a 8 month old thread. This time I will try wording it to be clearer.

I've successfully made 1 skin/ped mod so far. However, since that first mod I have been having a problem...

I have followed many tutorials, all of which were a little different from the other. I followed each tutorial step by step. But I have a problem when I test it in game. The problem is, when I select the skin in the Skin Selector, the becomes unresponsive. It doesn't freeze completely, and it doesn't crash to my desktop. It just gets "stuck" on one thing, and CJ and other things still move in the game. I can't exit the skin selector, I can't select another skin. The only thing I can do is press Pause(Esc) and do anything on the pause menu, such as reload a save or exit the game.

It's really irritating me because I really want to create skin mods. But with this problem, I follow every tutorial I try step by step. I can't figure out what I am doing wrong!

Maybe the ped model is very high poly? If it is, try lowering the polys in 3ds Max

I don't think that's the problem because the polys aren't that high...

Firstly, I apologize for double-posting and bumping my old topic...

But this problem I have been having has not yet been resolved... and I'd rather just bump this old topic of mine rather than post a new thread...

The Description of the Problem:
EVERY Tutorial I follow to rig a ped/skin, the outcome is ALWAYS the same exact thing! I follow every tutorial every single step, but nothing works! ilir had asked about the polys, but that can't be the problem as GTA San Andreas doesn't crash completely. When I go to test my newly rigged skin, I open up the skin selector and go down the list to my skin mod. But when I select the skin, San Andreas freezes for a second, then it goes back to normal gameplay speed. But my skin doesn't load! It's still CJ just standing there! I cannot do anything at this point. It's stuck with the skin selector open, my skin mod highlighted, sounds and player/ped animations are still going. The only thing I can do at this point is open the pause menu and load a saved game, start new game, close the game or other things on the pause menu. I am getting so unbelievably frustrated because I have no idea what I'm doing wrong!

Tutorials I've tried:

creative madman's Simplest Rigging Tutorial In The Universe
And several others...

(I HAVE successfully rigged 1 skin using mahmutil's Tutorial, it was my first ped rigging. But after my first Ped Rig, I've had this same exact problem EVERY TIME I try to rig a ped!)

Once again, I apologize for double posting and bumping an old topic. But I didn't want to post a new thread for this same problem!

Could it be a problem with your skin selector?
What happens if you re-import your skin in Max, does it look okay?
Are you sure you weighted every single vertex? (They are all assigned to at least 1 bone)
Which model did you use as a base? (Skeleton base)

Unfortunately I no longer have GTA SA installed so I wouldn't be able to test your skin by myself. I could however, try looking at it in Max and see if I find an error.

I don't think it's a problem with the skin selector because I can still select other skins.
When I re-imported my skin, it loads on it's right side. That's all I really notice...
Weighted Vertex? Erm... To be completely honest, I don't even know what that is... I'm still new to modding and I only have 1 skin mod that worked, and that was my first one. Anything after that has this problem.
By model if you mean which SA Ped, I used fam2.dff.

I've sent you a PM with the skin if you want to take a look at it.

Please, can someone help me with this? I can't for the life of me figure out what the problem is....
