As you know, in the GTA 3 era, most of the radio DJs were made up characters such as Tommy Smith and Sage. But in GTA the radio DJs are real life DJs and are voiced by themselves.

In GTA 5, do you think they'll keep doing the real life DJs like they did in GTA 4 or will they go back to the good days of Vice City and make up characters like Sage and all the hilarious DJs from Vice City.

I personally hope they use made-up DJs. They were much more funnier and creative. Perhaps it'll be half and half. What do you think?

My point is that not a single DJ in GTA 4 was fictional. The most memorable DJs in GTA history were all fictional ones imo.

Lazlow's not fictional, he's an actual DJ who's friends with the fellows at R*.

I don't mind to be honest. I know their soundtrack selection is going to be awesome so that's all I care about. It's kind of a form of advertising too, it gets R* more money and respect by using the DJ's real name because it gives him/her recognition, and in turn R* can get song licenses much more easily and cheaper.

rockstar hired me to be a dj on gta 5, the whole game is in Japanese though, sadly the japs invaded rockstar north and took it over and now its only being released in japan, i think naughty dog are going to port it in 2015 so it can be released in europe and america

The idea of Vice City having San Andreas' radio DJs?! The III era I guess?! Why confuse the issue, the fact is S.A. used musicians as DJs, and this is true with "4" as well, but giving them fictional names and some similar status is not nearly as important, At least as I see it, I note the musicians for who they are, Phil Collins of Genesis making an appearance, it's all funny, really

Lazlow's name pops up in the credits for RDR didn't he?? , they always request his input, perhaps on MP3 as well
There's a much better chance of celebs or noted people used in the radio then in the game landscape as characters.

don't mean to be the a**hole here, but tommy "nightmare" smith was voiced by axel rose, so i'm not so sure what you mean by "real DJs" If what your trying to say is that they use their real names when broadcasting, then I get what you mean
Either way, it doesn't really matter as long as they r funny and Lazlow is there

I don't really care much about real DJs. I'd love to see the return of DJ Timecode and MC Codebreaker in Los Santos. MSX FM and MSX 98 were my favorite stations in III and LCS respectively. Fictional DJs aren't a bad thing, after all, GTA is a fictional universe.
