Just saw the trailer there now...liking it, a lot. Recognized Bill Moseley immediately there and because he's playing the role of Drayton, I'm still confused as to when this is set.

Still, looking forward to it.

Love, love, LOVED that trailer! I'm confused who Bill Mosely will be playing. I mean, he was Leatherface's brother right?

I'm dropping in here to boast tounge2.gif .

I saw the first Texas Chainsaw Massacre at the drive in. Beat that mother f*ckers tounge2.gif .

I guess you can see how it is easy for me to fall into 'that' class of folk who think 'some' films should never be remade or f*cked with.

This.

Well, can't judge a movie based on one trailer, so I won't be too critical on this one. However, seeing Trey Songz made me cringe...

He was Chop Top, Leatherface's brother in the sequel to the original, yes, and although TCM3D is also a sequel to the '74 version, it follows a different and more serious storyline. It has nothing to do with TCM 2 or Leatherface 3 are any of the sequels after the '74 one.

As for Moseley, he plays Drayton Sawyer (according to imdb), who is the father-ish guy from the original.

I've spent many a post lamenting the seemingly endless onslaught of remakes, reboots and sequels but I have to be honest - I'm looking forward to this one. Maybe it's because I'm getting old or maybe it's the lack of reasonably high profile horror movies of late. These found footage movies don't satisfy my hunger to be honest. They're more of a thrill ride than a movie. This will no doubt be relatively average and trashy but at least it's an honest to goodness slasher.

Can anybody recommend any good horror movies that have came out in the last year? Lovefilm ratings for horrors tend to be on the low side so it's hard to pick out good ones.

The Women In Black is a good show, either by play or film.

I'm hoping they release some more stills or a trailer for TC3D. Certainly hope they include a reference to Nubbins.

I hope there is a scene like this in the new one. I mean, this sh*t was frightening in the 70's. If they could figure out a way to REALLY frighten this generation, then I will consider this movie a TRUE sequel.

That scene is a classic, even used it as an example for sound effects in my TEC work. lol.gif

I also agree with what you wrote. And by scare them, I mean SCARE THEM. None of this jumping out behind a door and shocking them for a couple of seconds. When I first saw this film I was sitting speechless, wondering what the f*ck was going on... mercie_blink.gif

Anyway, here's a sneak peek of Bill Moseley as Drayton Sawyer, no doubt preparing for the wrath of the townsfolk.

I would go see it, but I'm under 17 and my both of my parents, even my dad who loves gory horror movies as much as I do, refuse to take me to see it and are banning me from buying the Blu-Ray when it comes out angry.gif Ok dad, so you take me to see The Collection, one of the goriest movies I've and he's ever seen, but not this? WTF? I guess The Collection traumatized him.

I just hate those cheap jump scares.......you guys are gonna think im a loser but, I even have to put my hands over my ears when I think there is about to be a jump scare. I just hate them... confused.gif

I love how you put it, "cheap scares". You're bang on the money with that phrase. Because that's what they are in my opinion.

I often admired the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre because it used only the one cheap scare (When Leatherface pops out of the bushes and kills Franklin). The rest of the film was scary because it left you sitting there thinking "What the fu...".

I am planning on seeing the Remake, dreading it somewhat because I hear it's a let down, but given that it's a modern day film and it is in 3D, there will be a good handful of things popping out at you.

Watch this on Friday, liked it. Wasn't as bad as some of those reviews have made out. Some aspects could have been improved.
