As far as energy goes, diet sodas make no difference. There's been some outcry about aspartame on the Internets, but it's entirely safe to consume in largeish doses (i.e. multiple diet sodas per day). It's basically science sugar. 1,000 times stronger than regular sugar so you need 1,000 times less of it, so you get 1,000 times less energy.
I'm not too informed on how diet sodas affect your health other than in terms of weight, so I'll refrain from commenting on that. If weight loss is your only goal, go ahead and drown yourself in diet soda if you want to. If you want to be 'healthy' in general, you're likely better off ditching them entirely. I should ditch my 200 cups of coffee per day for water, but f*ck it. We all need our vices. Diet sodas won't keep you from losing weight unless they make you eat more for some reason.

Even though diet sodas have very little or no sugar in, they do contain sweeteners and caffeine. Giving up drinking soda is not as hard as you may think. It's even okay to drink sparkling water now and again. It doesn't taste that bad and you are getting that "fizz". |
You speak like I'm addicted.. I just enjoy the taste of Cola x (cheapo sugar free cola) more than cat piss (sparkling water) | Well.. caffeine is addictive. I recall reading somewhere that high sugar drinks and sodas (i.e. coke, pepsi, etc) ultimately make you more thirsty. Although I've noticed Pepsi Max, Coke Zero and diet sodas and stuff conversely make me really hungry.

| QUOTE (Chunkyman @ Saturday, Jul 28 2012, 11:00) | | I've been trying to lose weight by playing video games, watching TV, and eating microwave burritos. It's not working yet, but I'm not about to be called a quitter. |
The picture of Porkins in your sig always makes me laugh! As for the video game/TV/Microwaved burritos diet, I'm sorry to give you this obviously unexpected news, but it's not going to work. I was a little chunkster as a kid and that diet plan made me gain even more weight! I lost it all in my early teens, but I still eat a lot of junk and I still enjoy microwaved burritos! I even put melted Cheez Whiz on top.

Some people, like my parents, can't lose weight. I, on the other hand, can't gain weight. I'm 5"1 and I only weigh 92 pounds, and even if I eat a lot like a teenager should, or do 20 sit-ups every morning, I pretty much stay the same. I think I might have an abnormality with my metabolism or something.

It's completely normal at your age.

Not as severely though. As for feeling hungry, well only soft-drinks with caffeine in it should do it like the examples you mentioned because as you probably know caffeine speeds your body up, i understand that caffeine doesn't actually contain energy, but it increases heart rate and nerve pulses and such in your body (your metabolism) and you will burn through whatever energy you have in your body faster. @ Los Santos, perfectly normal, most kids have trouble putting on weight, some people go through their whole lives until old age unable to gain weight.
