So, after 3-4 years with my humble computer, it's starting to turn into a piece of sh*t, honestly. I can't really play recent games as I expected and it's just starting to wear out with slowness and what the hell not. So I'm looking for a computer, attention, a computer for gaming (GTA IV, Max Payne 3, DiRT... and future games) and CPU intensive tasks (Rendering videos and playing Minecraft (lol)).
My maximum budget is 600 to 650 € tops, I know the budget can't get me a VERY decent computer, but I wanna see the maximum I can get for this price with the help of you guys and so I can have a much faster setup where I can finally play games decently, also I'd prefer Portuguese stores please, thanks smile.gif

EDIT: I still don't have all the money (400 something € at the moment) so I'd prefer a machine that won't get dated very quickly either lol. If I can get a machine for cheaper though, do tell.

Thanks, that looks really nice! But I forgot to mention, a hard drive is something I could buy later as right now I have two 320 GB hard drives and a 160 GB one. A DVD drive I also have. tounge.gif As for the PSU, well I've had a 700W one (but cheaper) for a while now, but I guess that'd be good. I'll look into it, any other builds are welcome.
And one question, isn't an i5 a little weak? I've always went by numbers (i5, i7) tounge.gif (CPU noob here so I might be talking sh*t)

EDIT: Without the components I said, I get a 400 something € build, which would be even better if it's a good one, but I look forward to more builds so I can make a decision. icon14.gif

Please tell what brand and what model is your PSU. "700W" doesn't really mean much.

i5 is really good, there's absolutely no need to get the i7 if the rig is going to be used primilarly for gaming purposes. What might be a good option is paying a bit more and getting i5-3570k + mobo like Asrock Z77 Extreme4, which would allow you to overclock the CPU.

It's a Halfmann or something, it's a little cheap but never failed on me. Also right, thanks for the info, I'm now searching various stores for the specs you specified, compare some prices here and there, it looks good. I'm not very fond of overclocking but I might look into that too, thanks icon14.gif

I wouldn't trust this "Halfmann" at all, looks very cheap on the inside, it probably wasn't designed with outputting 700W in mind (it's hard to tell what it real power might be). It's a safer option to replace it.

Here's the pic I found, it doesn't really look like a 700W power supply.

Never opened mine, but I'll look into that. Anyway I've been searching in stores and to lower the price a little bit I replaced the motherboard and the memory which seem equally good and the memory frequency is even higher (1600).

I replaced the RAM with a CORSAIR KIT 8GB DDR3 1600MHZ VENGEANCE (CL9 - 1.5V) which costs me 53,20 in this store, and the motherboard with a ASROCK B75 PRO3. I say lower the price because in the store I'm in, the same CPU is more expensive by 2€ but the same graphics card (Powercolor aswell) is 10€ less. So what you think of the mobo and ram?

RAM would be okay if you don't plan to OC (B75 Pro3 doesn't allow OC anyway, apart from that it's an okay mobo). It should be noted that there will be barely any increase of performance by going from 1333 to 1600.

Right, thanks, I guess with my current budget that's what I'll be getting, as I said I didn't want a beast, I wanted something much faster than my current PC and that allows me to game and stuff, thanks a lot, I think I'm going with those specs plus the mobo and RAM I said icon14.gif

For God's sake replace that PSU! Running that system Yojo posted with a crap PSU is an accident waiting to happen.

The worst place to cheap out on is the PSU.

I've never checked mine inside and I'm not really sure it looks like that, just from outside it looks a little bit better but I'll check it don't worry.
