They need to shake up the old tired Silent Hill formula of "Douche goes to Silent Hill and discovers dark secret about themselves." Its been done to death and it's never going to be done as well as SH2. Its also a major problem when the main character has no reason to be in Silent Hill, especially in Origins and to a lesser extent Downpour. This is why I really love SH4, it shook up what Silent Hill is. You never go to Silent Hill, the main focus is on the antagonist and the main character is more of a narrator, plays up the fear of being trapped in a room etc. Sure, some of the gameplay decisions didn't quite work out but they took a good risk that paid off. Plus, the old control was kind of run a bit dry by SH3 and it need to be shaken a bit. This is actually why I'm interested in how Book of Memories will turn out, it's actually taking a risk with the series and might just end up saving the series. Downpour has been the best game developed in America in the series so far, making new ideas rather than just ripping off SH1 and 2. Co-op in Silent Hill? Sounds crazy but they could pull it off, bring the fear of teaming up and being isolated from a group. Of course it could just turn into a Left 4 Dead or Resident Evil wannabe and be utterly disastrous, killing the series. Hope for the best, expect the worst
