| QUOTE (The General @ Friday, Jul 20 2012, 20:36) | I've played Saints Row 2 a hell a lot more then GTA IV, even though I consider GTA IV to be the better game.
Saints Row 2 is a pretty good game, with a lot of problems. The vehicle handling sucks, the gunplay isn't the greatest, and some the characters are annoying(looking at Pierce), but the game was still fun. It had a good blend of seriousness and goofiness. And I wish that SR3 would of continue it, but it did not.
This is what they did to SR3.
*"Nigga you just went full retard" clip*
They went full retard on us.
Lets add zombies, lets ripoff tron, lets kill off the fan favorite in the first 30 minutes, and finally, lets kill off the main bad guy in the first act. There is so much wrong with 3. And the sad thing is, they are going to continue that crap on us with 4, cause this one sold so many copies. | It's true, I think THQ had a new CEO after the release of SR3 and he called the game "embarrassing" I'm not buying another Saints Row title again unless they actually put some thought into making it.

| QUOTE (Gst0395 @ Friday, Jul 20 2012, 19:00) | The main thing I hated about Saints Row 3's story were the new characters. Oleg was okay, but the rest were garbage. Kinzee was an unlikeable whiney nerd, Angel was just completely boring with little personality (not even Hulk Hogan's voice could save him) and the WORST was that annoying douchebag Zimos. Everytime he spoke in that retarded autotuned voice, I wanted to cringe. His voice is like hearing nails on chalkboard, and he wasn't really funny...at all.
| I agree with you, Oleg was okay, and Amgel was also okay, Zimos was stupid, the only thing that I liked about him was his autotune voice, (I lol'ed when I accidentaly put him on fire in a co-op free roam with a friend, that autotune scream ) but Kinzee took the cake, her missions were f*cking stupid, and she was very annoying, just shut the f*ck up and let me do my mission in peace. (I wanted to blow up her car with a rocket launcher when I did when of the guardian angel missions for her )

| QUOTE (badboy_zay @ Friday, Jul 13 2012, 03:01) | Saints Row and GTA are free roaming games, you can kill people, drive a car and ram into anything you want. but that doesn't mean it a same game. compare GTA with Saints Row is like compare Star Wars with Star Trek, both are movie about future war, spacecraft, engery weapon and sh*t,... and again, that doesn't mean it a same movie. both games have it own good and bad thing, so they are both awesome. the only thing I see from the first post is the hatred of some GTA "fanboy?" | Star Wars is set a long long time ago, in a galaxy far far away. Not in the future.

| QUOTE (Miamivicecity @ Friday, Jul 13 2012, 23:17) | Funnily enough the only one I really rate is the first one. It feels like a true alternative to GTA. SR2 was ok, but began getting stupid and SRTT just sucks. SR4 will be terrible if it follows the trend.
IMO they completely f*cked this series 3 games in. | Yeah, they are f*cking up that franchise pretty good, i used to really enjoy them. GTA i enjoy more for many reasons, the main few are probably: - Better storyline - More polished gameplay - well structured missions - More subtle and mature - Nostalgia

I prefer Saints Row 2 over GTA IV. I loved making a Cockney Barstool, toting a Top Hat and Pinstripe suit, and having him rampage around Stilwater; a city I do enjoy thanks to its variety of districts.
Other than that... I think GTA comes out on top.
About Saints Row The Third: Way to mess things up. Too much focus on the wacky/retarded, kill off a character who's survived stabbings and other wounds OFF-SCREEN, turn Shaundi from "relaxed stoner" to "massive b*tch who won't shut up or even smile", big up the main villain only to kill him off in the first act, leaving a lukewarm masked wrestler to take up the helm as "Baddie"... oh dear, oh dear.

| QUOTE (Johnny_Cash1983 @ Tuesday, Jul 31 2012, 14:32) | | GTA sh*ts on Saints Row | Anything does on that third installment, that's for sure...
Never in my life have I ssen such a regression in a game series. Yes the graphics are better and they have added a few bits of good content but overall they've made the game appeal to children, the went full retard with a lot of the content, missions, city structure (reason for no mission replay) and characters as well.
I'll never buy a Saints Row title again unless It's SR3, as in more lie SR2 and if SRTT was disregarded totally and consigned to the wastebin of horrible games never to be mentioned again.
