DYOM Tour Guides

Introduction
1. When I was like 9, I played this game called 'Club Penguin'. It's an online game for ages 7-11 say. Anyway, they have this thing called 'Tour Guides' for the newbies who just joined. Anyway, I was reading everyone's posts about the immature people. And I thought, why can't authorized people give the newbies a 'Tour Guide'. They give them the do's and dont's of DYOM.

2. In primary school, when your in prep(1st grade) you get a grade 6 buddy. You can go to them if you have any questions or need help. I was thinking about my Tour Guides idea and thought the tour guides could also act as a buddy. If the newbie ever has any questions, they straight away PM their 'Buddy.

How To Get A Tour
Just post in this topic, and one of the authorized tour guides will take your requests. They will PM you after they have accepted your request.

Becoming A Tour Guider
Just give me a PM, and I'll see if your good enough. By the way, you have to be in DYOM for at least over 2 months. And make sure your active enough and are committed.

For three years, I tested everything I saw in the DYOM, from the Setting into the Pickups, except for the storyline.

BTW, congrats to -S-Shark21! I'll PM you (K6) now...

But I was wondering how long you get a buddy.
In primary school you get them for the whole year.
But how long can they have a buddy.

Just 1 note:
Why do we need those buddies anyway?

Same, for a year. But because they are new, the tour guide is pretty much like the first person they talk to. So they might find them as a helper and a friend.

SUGGESTIONS:

- Like on DYOM Mag, you guys need a Message Sender (Like SP on DYOM Mag). The message contains a brief history about DYOM and the link here and welcoming the newcomer.

- Videos - It will be hard, but it will be more understandable for watching is easier than reading. Make a vid with commentary, a video showing, DYOM Support- What can we post there and what can we find there. DYOM Missions - What can we post there, what can we find there, and what are those PINNED thread says. Then teaching how to make a decent thread, etc.

I think, we should advertise this in the Designers Lounge because newcomers will first check the missions forums than the support forums.
