i want to see some weapons with (fictitious) names rather than generic "pistols" and "assault rifles". damage is based on NPCs having the same health as in GTA IV. also, the low max ammo is mainly for realism and balancing however you can resuply at any time outside of combat taking the ammo stored in the trunks of police/ military cars and cars that you own (stored in garage), taking ammunition from your vehicles costs money.

a new health system for NPCs could be used in conjunction with the new weapons, where any damage they take which exceeds their remaining HP (overkill damage) becomes a chance of instant death, rather than incapacitation which occurs automatically when somone's HP reach 0 (exept in the case of headshots, who always kill instantly unless the person is wearing a helmet).

example: NPC HP = 100, after being shot with a .357 magnum revolver which does 55 damage they have 45 HP remaining, they are then shot a second time for another 55 damage, 45 - 55 = -10 => 10% chance of instant death + 90% chance of incapacitation.

both a character's "toughness" stat and armor class will reduce the damage they take.


stat guide

damage: damage to HP.
penetration: it's level of cover and armor penetration.
* low: can shoot through glass and light items.
* moderate: can shoot through glass, light items and unarmored vehicles. ignores light body armor.
* high: can shoot through glass, medium items and unarmored vehicles. ignores light body armor.
* very high: can shoot through glass, heavy items and lightly armored vehicles. ignores medium body armor and light helmets.
* maximal: can shoot through almost anything. only applies to the armor piercing sniper rifle. ignores all body armors and helmets.
accuracy: accuracy in percentage.
capacity: ammunition the gun can hold.
reload: time it takes to reload.
range: weapon's range, same as in GTA IV.
fire rate: weapon's fire rate in rounds per minute (RPM) or shots per minute (SPM).
max ammo: maximum ammunition you can carry for that particular weapon.
zoom: how far you can zoom in, applies only to sniper rifles.
- <notes>: notes pertaining to the weapons users or special features.

chainsaws are fairly ineffective weapons due to the fact that flesh would eventually clog them up. although it could work as a temporary weapon by giving it limited durabillity both for realism and to balance out it's power (chainsaws should produce instant neutralisation).
