Remember then in January 2012, Rockstar North (with their only game in development being GTA V) ordered 100 beta testers. This would go perfectly along with the timeline; let them test it for 6-9 months and it all makes sense.

i didnt know abot the beta testers, do you have a source? + If they do provide info in the from the 14th-17th as many are saying, I guess a november or december release is possible.

I wrote if the article was a recent one it would have had a higher chance of giving correct info except this one is 14 months old. Chances are its not corrent info since it was written 4 months before the game was even announced. I wish its true but I find it a bit hard to believe.

I would imagine that most game devs keep beta testers on for a few months after release, because there's no avoiding day one bugs and they'd have to test that for new patches etc?

Yeah that's what I think.

I don't know how it all works but I'm guessing they'll keep them on post release to test patches and possibly DLC. Of course, I suppose that they could always extend the contract if they delayed the game.

FACT is that they are heavily testing it for 6/7 months now.

They could always extend the contract to keep them on for another few months.
