We've had a myriad of different introductions, and each game had its own unique ways or means of introducing the protagonist to the city. We know already that the main character is coming from somewhere else, but how will he arrive to Los Santos? Also, what other circumstance might there be? Will someone be waiting for him when he arrives? Is he in witness protection and is escorted by some federal agents?

I'm assuming Rockstar has planned something original, something that hasn't been done if possible. An airport arrival would work, but they already did it in Vice City and San Andreas. Grand Theft Auto IV was by boat, and Red Dead Redemption had a train take us inland. I'm thinking it would be cool if the protagonist drove to Los Santos from the countryside in a beater convertible, Fear and Loathing style. It would be interesting to be thrown into the world backwards, seeing as we are usually starting out in the city and then expanding to the countryside. It would be fun for the first mission just to be driving to Los Santos through rural hillsides and passing diners and motels along the way to tempt your interest.

The logical answer would be an airport arrival since that's how most outsiders enter a city.

He said that he went to the city to try a new life, so it seems that no one forced him to do it. After a crash in what he was doing, this was his only option.
Maybe he will arrive the city in a sexy sport car and in a very lonely mood, thinking about what he left behind and in what his life will turn.

Then, you will call a friend or someone from your interest that will give you a mission. Or better, you will pick up your friend at his house and he will take you to a tour around the city, just like it was in GTA IV.
But obviously, you will see a city completely different from what you thought. A city full of poor people living behind the bridge and dirty streets forgot by the government. You will see people committing crimes in every single corner, and then you will realize that things will be different, because "you know how it is...".

Ha, that is too good to be true. I really don't know how it's going to be, but coming from Rockstar I'm completely sure it will amaze every single fan of the series.

The camera will slowly pan over Ned Luke's bed until it focuses on his face, he'll then begin violently coughing in a phlegmy manner. After that he'll pain stakingly start to get out of his bed, making a plethora of "dad noises" as he does so, this will take about 5 minutes. He'll shuffle/drag himself to his bathroom where he'll look at himself with sadness and contempt. He'll then shove his filthy dentures into his mouth and head to the kitchen for some fiber cereal. He'll fart and grunt as he eats his cereal and slurps his orange juice. After this sequence he'll watch news for a while and mumble a few semi racist comments about kids these days as he scratches his beer gut. The camera we'll zoom in on his saggy old man balls slouching out of his boxer shorts and then the game will begin.

I don't think we'll be 'arriving in a new city' in V. I think the protag has been living in Los Santos for a while.

It would be pretty cool, if there are cutscenes that explain what happened in the Protagonist's past (that led up to him moving to Los Santos) sprinkled throughout the story.

(*For the sake of explanation I'm going to say Ned Luke is the main character*)
After a few missions, an 'N' pops up on your mini-map. You go to the marker, which is at a bar. You watch a cutscene, where Ned walks into the bar sits down and orders a drink. He hears something on the TV that makes him think back to something that happened in his past. You watch a cutscene of whatever it's related to, and suddenly you're controlling Younger-Ned. You proceed to play through the mission, and discover what happened.

Clarification for people who might have forgotten, or are blinded by rage.
I'm not suggesting that Ned Luke is the protagonist, I was merely using him as an example.

I think the first trailer is actually how it's going to open. At least the whole dialogue part anyway, then when he's done talking he'll get a phone call off some one and you'll have to drive somewhere. The whole dialogue in the first trailer sounds so much like an intro...

On topic, judging by the trailer it seems like we have an easy going guy who's had a criminal background. He moves to Los Santos with some money possibly by his own vehicle and trys to fit in yet with the economy going bad he goes back to criminal acts. I imagine he will start off small. Or maybe he starts off with a lot of money and loses it while trying to be a regular upstanding citizen.

Why would you want to help some random running away from the police?

Especially when you're driving in a limo?

If the person is a friend of the man or family then sure.
