Shooting takes me back to desktop

Player Hater Group: Members Joined: Apr 15, 2012	GTAIII is running great for me on W7 x64 but when I start shooting it often minimizes to the task bar and I'm at the desktop while the game keeps running. Has anyone else experienced this? And is there a solution? I'm not running the game in compatibility mode.

Are you running two monitors?

The only advice i can give is uninstall/reinstall and run in compatibility mode for windows xp.
