This is a program to simplify the ability of modding the weapons in GTAIV. Everything is pretty straight-forward so there shouldn't be much need for explanations. Each tab in the program is dedicated to a particular set of weapon properties you are able to edit in the file.

NEW in v1.2: Now you are able to edit the thrown weapon info and melee animations, only if they've been loaded with the first weapon info.. yes, you have to choose both files when loading.

The user input doesn't have any error checking routines, so entering a value of "asdf" into clip size may result in unexpected results. Everything, except the flags, uses strings for compatibility reasons, so just be careful what you modify. Also entering a number like 99999 into ammo max will NOT work, instead use 9999 which does work. I believe the same goes for clip size although I haven't actually tested it.

If there are any errors with any of the weapons, the game simply doesn't load that weapon. So, if you have the pistol equipped when you save and enter 99999 as a value for ammo max, then reload the save, you won't have the pistol equipped when you check your weapons. You will also NOT be able to pick up any pistols that may be lying around. This does NOT work for law enforcement. I repeat, the pigs will still shoot at you!


You will need the Microsoft .NET Framework v3.5 installed in order for this program to run at all.

Sorry guys, I missed a property which is Projectile->FuseTime. It's only used by the grenade, so I overlooked it in the inital release. It's fixed now, the default value is 5000 for those who want to set it back.

Version is not an issue. The files that this program edits probably won't be any different from patch to patch. I have the patch installed and it doesn't produce errors for me. What is not working well for you?

I'll stick to manual modding,i can add weapons and do all sorts of crazy sh*t myself(i'm about to rel a mod for 10x ammo with some crazy bonus weapons)

Support for adding new weapons may come sooner than you think. I didn't add it yet because nobody ever asked for it.
All you do is set the clip size and ammo max both to 9999, then when you pick up a gun you will have 9999, plus no reload.
Increase the physics force to about 2k or 3k then you will be flipping cars over with the pistol. biggrin.gif
Set damage base to a negative number and that gun will no longer kill you or put holes in your vehicle tires. biggrin.gif
I can even shoot rockets and molotovs from any gun. tounge.gif How's that for crazy sh*t? happy.gif

Couple Questions.

First of all, I was going through the weaponinfo XML and I found both Minigun and Flamethrower. Could that mean something?

Second, could you link me to a tut or just give me a hand with editing projectiles? I went to the Projectile tab and it was all blank so I don't know how to make the Uzi shoot rockets ;P

For projectile editing you can always use the rocket launcher as a great example. biggrin.gif Just switch back and forth to see what options to put where, copy and paste does the job great. Then you can modify them little by little to set it right for that particular gun. Let me know how that goes for you.

Ahh, sorry for double post, but I have a problem. I changed the RPG's timebetweenshots to 50, but it acts like 250 or 400. However, today I jumped off a building with the rpg and held down the mouse button while falling, and it shot like crazy, which is probably how it should have shot as I edited it. It there anything I can do to make it shoot a ton normally?

Not really necessary to find out, as I already made an Uzi-RPG, but it would be good to know.
