Is it possible to add a new island in GTA 4?

Prankster Group: Members Joined: Aug 31, 2005	You CAN do it, but the tools to make it easier aren't out there. You can manually edit the files to do it, though. It WILL take a long time.

GTA MOD GOD! Group: Members Joined: Oct 6, 2009	If it was possible to download a map editor that let's me add islands and stuff like that, I could make some REALLY awesome mods. How long do you think it will be until someone makes a tool like that? Months or years? By manually editing the files, do you mean using Notpad?

GTA player since 2001 Group: Members Joined: Jun 15, 2009	There already exists a tool for map editing called Shadow Mapper its the only tool so i suggest you get it , as of now it doesnt support cols , but it will very soon (at least i hope).

It only works on Windows Vista sp1-sp2. I wasted a whole day trying to get it to work on my Windows 7 computer.

I can't run it in compatibility mode because it is a .jar file. I'm going to have to dual boot Windows Vista with my current OS if I want to use this.

The answer to your question: It is ONLY possible to edit the GTA IV map if you are using Windows Vista.
