While I was doing this mission, I locked on to the target and shot at him while he was entering the helicopter (unfortunately I wasn't recording at that time) . I think this may have caused a glitch wherein the target glitches out of the helicopter and just runs around Aldea Mavada, while the Maverick flies on it's intended path. What I really want to know is, has this ever happened to any one before, and when the heli takes off, does it lose its proofings? In the video, I save it in my hangar, but I made the mistake of not saving the game OR testing to see if it was still BP/FP/EP/DP. If it was, then if the glitch is re-doable (which I aim to test) then one could get both vehicles in one try without failing the mission.

This is version 1.0 of SA on the PC version with some gun and face textures replaced, and some of the weapon stats tweaked.

A modded game may have unexpected results.
I usually just snipe the guy and grab the documents, and then fly away using the Jet Pack.
I've never found the 'escape' copter to be unlocked.
In the Cheats & Tricks Forum there are topics about aquiring proofed vehicles.

True, but those are the only things changed, just some txd's and some dffs. Nothing major like script changes. I'll try and see if I can make it happen again.

Any minor change can mess up your game. Saved those modified files somewhere, and delete them from your game directory. Then do a re-install. It should work then.

This was a one time thing, it has never happened before. It isn't hindering my gameplay at all, I just thought it was an interesting find. I wish that I was recording when the helicopter took off so you could see what I mean.

I'm sure most of us have understood, but this mission was played so many times by different people and nobody has ever exploited this glitch.. i don't know how it could be repeatable.. well maybe theres a trigger to it, have you done anything strange or something that could possibly trigger the glitch?

I was using the classic controls (auto aim) and I had frame limiter off. When I locked on to the target and shot, he took damage as normal, but when he opened the Maverick door I was still firing my M4. Then he simply phased through it and remained on the ground, while the Maverick flew away. Then I began chase in the other heli and that's where the video picks up.

hmm... in Misapproprioation targets heli is always locked, i tried to steal it one time as i was doing the mission, so when the target unlocks the heli it starts some kind of script and it flies away instead by giving us a chance to steal that CP Maverick but i just don't understand how could you kill him when he was just entering that Maverick , because during the proccess you or any ped are invencible... or did you kill him just right before he tried to enter heli? because the former should happen even outside the mission, but never happened to me...

He didn't die, he just phased through the heli and stood still. I left him there and went after the heli. I would have done more, but I had five stars on me and I couldn't recall the wanted level down cheat for the life of me.

Are you playing with your Original DVD in the drive?
This sounds like some mod has interfered with the mission play.
