GTA IV crashes when replacing car

Homeboy Group: Members Joined: Jun 18, 2002	Before editing vehicles.img, carcols.dat, vehicles.ide, the game runs fine, but when importing a new car model to overwrite an existing car, it crashes to desktop. I am running 1.0.4.0 (for icenhancer) after attempting on 1.0.7.0, but the issue remains. I installed xlive.dll. Any steps besides installing xliveless in order to be able to mod? My carcols/handling/vehicles files were still read only if that helps at all.
